Hm, seems like there's a wide-open opportunity here for some enterprising folks to sell themselves as "pageant answer coaches", selling flash cards, pop quizzes and like such as.
@MissSkittles is not your kind of lady: Well if you can help somebody like me, you can help anyone. Before we all jump on these poor pageant people and their goofy answers, think of how we ourselves would react having to say sentences under pressure with no edits and no rewind escapes or retakes. Agh, when I worked in the radio I could not ad lib my own NAME and had to write everything down for myself before I opened the mike. Not making this up.
It's all about taking one key word from the question, apply it to the nation as a whole and running with it.
So... Learning.
"Learning without thought is a labor lost."
I agree with this statement: education and academic achievement are hugely important to the youth of today because, as the world job market shifts to more technology based positions, Panama will need an educated workforce in order to be competitive. However, it is of the utmost importance that, in educating ourselves for practical purposes, we do not forsake the thoughtful and inquisitive aspects of our nature that brought forth such incredible advancements to begin with. Thank you.
@LaComtesse: oops. Entered too soon. Anyway, so did I address the questions philosophically, as it was originally intended? No, but my answer was better than "Confucius was Chinese."
I want these dingbats to earn their crown and scholarship by going to volunteer at homeless shelters, ER's , schools and generally helping people and maybe getting their hands dirty. It seems the ability to answer questions is a long lost art. (This is coming from a Miss America Inc. vet, too.)
To be honest, I was bad in philosophy, and would probably give a bad answer to a question like that. It's a dumb answer she gave, but I don't want to rag on her about it.
@elitza owns the last Enzo shirt: No, stupid was always a common, universal trait. Trust, me; I've lived in Europe for 20 years.I truly believe that the ratio of estúpidos to smarties is about the same all over the world. But this is just dumbfuck. Useless. Like doing a swimsuit competition at the Nobel prizes.
