I really like the site. Those are all my favorite stores already, so I like to see the clothes on a real person & how they put them all together.
I could do without the tights that have each leg a different color & also they could stop with the pigeon-toe thing....

@Pomonarona: Ah, I know! I already commented on it, but I just looked at the older posts and they're swimming in that mildly retarded 'Aww, widdle ol me?' poses. It's pretty common in Japanese girls and women and is supposed to suggest cuteness and vulnerability. It doesn't.

Ummmm... This site looks an awful lot like a ___Sugar site. The outfits are from sponsors on the same pages, and I'm not seeing a lot of items outside the sponsored brands... There's nothing really wrong with that, but it does seem more like a catalog, than a "fashion blog."

To me, that means it's a site about getting free stuff, selling stuff, and commenting on fashion - in that order.

actually, weardrobe isn't sponsored by "those" brands at all, they just like to have lots of ways to search for clothing, and by brand is one of them.

@VaraneseHippodamia: Well, I apologize, may have jumped the gun a bit but the sponsorship relationship is far from clear. There is a column marked Sponsors, but given other features of the site, it seems that there might be other, additional revenue streams.

I like the notion that women can submit the looks themselves - that gives people a forum to exercise their skills and talents, and builds a community.

Having the tags connect to the search functions at Zappos is clever. It looks like a good idea. If they're not getting paid for referrals or click-throughs, I'd be very surprised.

Mixed feelings... I totally played fashion shoot when I was a teen (okay, and now). But I wasn't an aspiring fashion model. Now, that + actress + pop singer is the #1 ambition for 99 percent of tweens.

Looking at the pics, I do prefer them to models. But do they have to imitate model posture and that annoying pigeon-toed pose?

I actually had the thought last night that it is really sad that I don't have photos of myself wearing my favorite outfits from the past few years. I think I will do something about that, but probably not post it online. I want to be able to prove to my future children that I looked damn good when I was their age.

@BrutallyHonestZombies: Me too. I wonder how old their "vintage" finds are. I tend to consider vintage 25 years old and older. I have some pieces from the 20s and 30s, and gloves that are older. These girls on weardrobe wouldn't know what to do with those kinds of things. Except pair them with AA leggings. ::shudder::

Whatever the deal is, I think it's fun. I like fashiony sites that show normal or normal-ish people, like the Sartorialist. I enjoy fashion but don't like anything that focuses on Hollywood types (although I should admit that Park Avenue Peerage is a very guilty pleasure of mine).

I'll proudly admit that I'm a member of the Wardrobe Remix group on Flickr, which is essentially the same thing, but oodles less pretentious. There's a lot of variety there: women of all sorts of ages, shapes, and styles from around the world.

Sometimes it makes me sad how the internet seems to make people believe that others are fascinated by what they're doing. I feel like these girls all want me to look at their pictures and think "She looks so amazingly hip! If only she could explain her outfit to me so that I might look a fraction of how hot she looks!"
