I think Esquire doesnt get the constant turn around for men and women on Seinfeld. THERE WAS NOT TOO MANY STORY ARCS. There were four main characters, 3 male and 1 female. Lovers, boyfriends, girlfriends and the like had to constantly come in because it moved the show. And these four people were so devoid of normalcy to compare that to any other characters is bizarre.

Smart women have noticed the trend in men lately of con jobs/players/etc and lack of compassion, in general (see the term "cougar" and the sniggers about that).

It's reactionary to not want sex any more; when you've been disrespected it's hard to get a wet-on.

sex was over by the year 2000, the rest of you haven't caught on yet. 1 out of every 4 people has herpes, by the way... a fraction of those know they have it cuz it's not in the regular screen for STDs, you have to ask for it. surprise!

The girl totally wants to have sex in Twilight. The boy makes her wait. Which I wasn't expecting from good old Mormon Stephanie Meyer. She kind of flips it, *SPOILER ALERT* making sex a reason for the marriage averse girl to get married. Although they do wait until after they're married, which is what it is. They kind of frame in the context of him being born in another century and kind of holding onto those values. Which helped me with it. Sorry, I lost my mind recently and have become a Twilight defender.

I miss Elaine Benes. Her wall of hair, her suit jackets over dresses, her white socks with comfy shoes, her nipple-bearing Christmas card, her temper, her love of the sponge, her bad-liar ways, her deep laugh.

That being said, I love Liz Lemon, too.

Don't make me choose. Two women with different interests/desires can coexist on my TV without the world folding in on itself.

This formerly loose woman gave up having sex because the only men she was meeting couldn't be bothered to play nice in another area of life apart from sex. And it got tiresome to be treated like a sex toy.

So until things change the only thing accompanying me to bed is a good book.

1) As if there is anything wrong with losing your virginity in your mid-twenties! I highly doubt I'll lose mine by the time I leave college, and that is totally fine with me. I'd rather have my first time be with someone I care about, not do it when I should do it.

2) As I recall, Elaine's sexuality was played for laughs, right? Because she was so desperate to be like the guys but also to have the Perfect Family. Sounds like a healthy role model. I'd rather have Liz.

Putting aside his needs - and what men like Marche want for a moment - wouldn't a smart, ambitious woman who has a healthy (meaning active) sex life be a great role model for women?

If you feel good about your sex life, whether it's active or not, it's healthy. A woman who is portrayed as partaking or not partaking in sex as she pleases & not feeling pressured to do otherwise is a great role model for women.

@clairedeloony: Sometimes I hate Liz Lemon (I'm like the anti-Liz) and then I remember that every character on that show is a CARICATURE heavily based on stereotypes. Every single one. So, yeah, definitely not a role model.

I read the title "Are women these days not into sex" and almost shrieked out WHAT sitting at my desk! I dont know where he gets his facts but they hopefully arent based solely on TV shows. We are all different, some love sex and can't get enough, some enjoy it when there is time, some find more signifigance in more intimate things. It's all normal. I'd say they haven't gone everywhere, and who is to say they need to run around telling everyone about it!

Whoa, buddy. Twilight's Bella is OBSESSED with sex. It's the bf who refuses to have it, for various retarded allegorical reasons. She thinks/talks about it CONSTANTLY. And when they finally have sex, the book goes ON and ON and ON about it.

Definitely not a good example.
