Also, I just talked to my mom about the whole ordeal and she said, "It's a shame that people like this are going to get our guns taken away, what with the abortionist murder and now this."

@domestic_goddess: And if this tragedy wasn't a perfect example of how having guns WON'T allow us to protect ourselves. Mr. Johns was a security guard, presumably armed (since I know the other guards were), and a trained professional. He's now dead. Guns won't protect from the crazies.

I don't even get the motive here, what does shooting people who WORK at the Holocaust Museum have to do with anything? Just to scare people? I guess I'm glad he at least attacked a place with guards, but GRRRR. This is all so maddening!

Imagine, you get up, you go to work, you say hi to everyone and prepare to check people out and make sure there is no funny business going on at the museum. It is almost time for lunch, and all of a sudden this old geezer comes charging in with a gun. You try to disarm him and....you are no more. It is too much for me to fathom. His poor loved ones.
