<![CDATA[Drew Peterson recently answered a question...]]> Drew Peterson recently answered a question about the whereabouts of his wife Stacy Peterson deceptively, according to a polygraph test. Peterson has been under public suspicion for having a hand in the disappearance of his wife as well as having something to do with the death of his ex-wife, Kathleen Savio. Peterson has not been charged with a crime and has denied any wrongdoing. Peterson explained on The Early Show yesterday morning that he can't explain the polygraph's findings. [UPI]

Of the guns that were confiscated by police, one was too short under Illinois law. Peterson is a former police officer whose fourth wife, Stacy, has been missing since October. His third wife's death was recently ruled a homicide. [My Fox Chicago]

<![CDATA[Suspicious Drowning Of Drew Peterson's Third Wife Ruled A Homicide]]> Drew Peterson, the despicable police officer and husband of still missing (and probably dead) fourth wife Stacy Peterson, might not be free much longer. The death of Peterson's third wife, Kathleen Savio, has been ruled a homicide. After Stacy (pictured here with her son and her younger sister) mysteriously disappeared without a trace in late October, Kathleen's body was exhumed. And, although the original autopsy performed on her back in March 2004 declared Kathleen's death an accident, upon further investigation, forensic analysts now believe foul play was involved. (Kathleen drowned in a bathtub).

In other depressing news this morning about murder committed within marriage — remember, as many as 25% of American women are victims of domestic abuse — Wisconsin resident Mark Jensen was convicted yesterday of dosing his wife, Julie Jensen, with antifreeze. (These stories are beginning to sound The Gashlycrumb Tinies, Spouse Edition: "K is for Kathleen who drowned in a tub/ J is for Julie, poisoned with love.") And another Midwestern husband murderer, Stephen Grant, was sentenced to 50-80 years in prison yesterday for killing his wife. Early last year, Grant beat his wife Tara to death and then cut her body into 14 pieces in his father's tool-and-die shop. According to UPI, Stephen and Tara's 7-year-old daughter recently drew a picture of her mother's funeral. "[The first picture] showed her father under a rock while [a second picture] said, 'My dad thinks he has power.'" The Grants' two children saw their mother being murdered. They are now in the custody of their mother's sister.

<![CDATA[The Dating Shame]]> The lawyer who represents former cop Drew Peterson (a suspect in the disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy) pitched a grrrrreat idea to a Chicago radio station: A "Win A Date With Drew Peterson" contest. The host of the station's morning show offered to chaperone the date "to be on the safe side." So which is it? Is Peterson the worst guy in the world (technically he is still married, remember) or does he just have the worst attorney in the world? [Newser]

<![CDATA[Drew Peterson Tells Dateline He Pampered Wife Stacy With Plastic Surgery]]>
This morning, the Today show ran a preview of Hoda Kotb's interview with Drew Peterson that's part of a Dateline report on the disappearance of his wife Stacy that airs tonight. In the clip above, Drew — who is a suspect in her disappearance — discusses how he pampered Stacy. He says he got her anything she wanted, like a boob job, a tummy tuck, braces, hair removal, Lasik eye surgery, referring to them as "repairs." You can tell by the look on her face that Hoda Kotb is like, Oh. My. God. You fucking ass. Hoda also calls Drew out for always speaking of Stacy in the past tense. But he's sticking to his story: She left him and the kids for another man, and that she was an emotional rollercoaster because of her menstrual cycle.

<![CDATA[ Remember when we got all excited because...]]> Remember when we got all excited because the media was actually reporting on the abduction of a woman of color? Well looks like we were prematurely pleased: the abducted woman in question, pregnant attorney Karyn McConnell Hancock (pictured), apparently faked the whole thing. When the police found no evidence to support McConnell's claim that she had been kidnapped, she recanted her story after several hours of questioning. In other missing lady news, Stacy Peterson, whose husband, Drew, almost certainly killed her, told her pastor that Drew admitted to killing his third wife.

When asked why Stacy would stay with her stabby husband after she learned about his murderous ways, pastor Neil Schori told Fox News, "My guess would be out of fear."

<![CDATA[Today In Missing White Women News]]> Still in a tryptophan induced post-Thanksgiving coma? Here's some new info on two potentially murdered white women to wrench you from your turkey stupor. (We'd report on missing black women, but it's hard to do so when the mainstream media doesn't seem to give a shit!) Stacy Peterson (pictured), the missing Illinois woman whose ex-cop husband, Drew, was previously married to a woman who "drowned suspiciously" was allegedly spotted in Peoria on November 19th. This update comes via an anonymous letter sent to Drew. And by "anonymous" Drew means "My buddy Skeeter wrote it and I'm pretending it's from a stranger." Kidding on that last part... but only kind of. A friend of Stacy, Scott Rossetto, told a grand jury on Wednesday that he and Stacy sent "racy texts," which he believes may have been misinterpreted by Drew.

This news comes on the heels of new developments in the Natalee Holloway case, which still remains the mother of all missing white woman news stories. The three suspects who were originally detained in the Holloway case, Aruban brothers Deepak and Satish Kalpoe and Netherlands native Joran van der Sloot, have been arrested again as "new material in the investigation" has surfaced. The trio were the last people to see Natalee alive and will appear in front of an Aruban court today. Natalee's dad is also attempting to search for her body, telling the AP that he thinks Natalee's "body was thrown into deep water that has not been adequately searched." We really hate to break it to a grieving father, but it's been over two years since Natalee went missing. Her body, if it was buried at sea, was fish food a long time ago.

Finally: An update in the investigation of alleged murderess, Amanda "Foxyknoxy" Knox. The day after she killed roommate Meredith Kercher in Perugia, Italy, in the midst of what is believed to be an "'extreme' sex game," Amanda Knox bought panties with her boyfriend and fellow murder suspect Raffaele Sollecito (whose name we keep confusing with Anne Hathaway boyfriend, real estate crook Raffaello Follieri). Anyway! The day after Kercher's death, Knox bought two g-strings and told Sollecito in front of the shopkeeper, "After I get you back home, we are going to have wild sex."

<![CDATA[What Do You Do With The "Missing White Girl" Story?]]> The trouble with the "missing white woman" beat is I'm never quite sure what I'm supposed to learn from those stories. Part of it is that I'm too ADD to get sufficiently engrossed in the details, because it often happens years later that a story like Natalee Hollaway gets recapped in Vanity Fair and I'm like, "Holy shit this makes up for all those hours I wasted trying to figure out who killed Chandra Levy." So anyway, Stacy Peterson. Could I be forgiven for assuming they were talking about Lacey Petersen the first few days of this? She married a cop thirty years her senior at nineteen years old. His ex-wife had "drowned" suspiciously. Another ex-wife feared "accidents" and says he was abusive. He goes on Today to talk to Matt Lauer and shows no signs of remorse or really, humanity. Blames her desire to divorce him on her "menstrual cycle." He gets away with all of it, because he's a cop. And what do you say? What do you learn from this? Some people are not twisted or manipulative in a way that is at all interesting or relatable or revelatory of the human condition but can only be called "evil"?

And they prey on the weak, and the young, and the meek, and the trusting? Fuck, isn't this shit what Law & Order is for? On Law & Order, shits like this guy get sentenced to life and it only takes an hour. When it happens in real life, you start to rethink your position on the death penalty.
