Southwest Airlines

Meet Sarah Williams and Nisreen Swedberg, the dynamic duo who claim that Southwest Airlines discriminated against them because they were too pretty. Here's what went down: Sarah and Nisreen were on a flight from Tampa to Los Angeles. Nisreen says from the get-go they were being ignored by staff because of their youth and beauty. A stewardess would not bring them water! Then Sarah "and another passenger exchanged profanities in an argument over the plane's bathroom". Southwest called for backup when the plane landed in L.A. and the girls were questioned for several hours about the potty problems. Sarah says that the other woman in the altercation was not questioned at all. "I think they were just discriminating against us because we were young, decent looking girls," she whined in a phone interview. "I mean nobody else really on the plane looked like us, except us." Mile High Club Kyla Ebbert, the woman who was kicked off a Southwest Airlines flight for being dressed too provocatively and got offended when Southwest did commercials advertising super low fares and riffing on her super short skirt just posed for Playboy. Says Ebbert: "They're very tastefully done... I don't see why it would affect a professional position." [ABC News]

Remember Kyla Ebbert, the airline passenger whose outfit was deemed too revealing by Southwest Airlines? Well, now the airline is referencing the resulting controversy in an advertising campaign, making mention of the carrier's "skimpy" fares. Says Ebbert: "They are exploiting me again by using my traumatic experience as a marketing ploy." [ABC News]

Southwest Airlines Has Beef With Double-D's

  • Wow, "Keith" must be working some serious overtime! Southwest Airlines gave another woman hell for wearing "revealing" clothing, just a week after a woman was nearly booted off a flight for wearing a mini-skirt. Setara Qassim was forced to wear a blanket by a flight attendant because she thought Setara's top was too low cut. Dude, is it just us, or does Southwest seriously have a problem with girls with ample breasts? [NBC6.net]

mile-high hypocrisy

The Fashion Police Of The Friendly Skies

Southwest Airlines, a carrier which favors a orange, blue, and poo-brown color scheme, has anointed itself the Anna Wintour of the mile-high club. Kyla Ebbert was escorted off a flight from to San Diego to Tucson by a customer service supervisor named "Keith" because he deemed her outfit "inappropriate". Ebbert was dressed for the 106-degree weather in the shit-hole she was headed to (for an important doctor appointment no less!), clad in a mini skirt, tank top, and cardigan — picture Posh Spice playing librarian or half the girls in SoCal dressed for work — and was only allowed to remain on the flight after she put up a major fight and explained she didn't have anything acceptably prudish to change into anyway. "Keith" relented but made her pull her top up so her cleavage wasn't as visible and pull her skirt down. More »
