...and whether to overturn regulations such as one that makes fetuses eligible for health-care coverage under the Children's Health Insurance Program.
What a slap in the face to the folks that just lost their jobs and have NO INSURANCE.

"While the Oath forbids the use of pessaries (vaginal suppositories) to induce abortion, it did not prohibit abortion. Modern scholarship suggests that pessaries were banned because they were reported to cause vaginal ulcers. This specific prohibition has been interpreted by some medical scholars as prohibiting abortion in a broader sense than by pessary....
Regardless of the Oath's interpretaion, Hippocrates writes of advising a prostitute who became pregnant to jump up and down, touching her buttocks with her heels at each leap, so as to induce miscarriage."

Fascinating stuff, eh?

Example: I got so tired of my doc's endless tirades against my decision to have a bris for my son that I dumped her, making it clear that I "hired" her for her medical expertise, not her personal philosophies.
When you're thinking of giving back to the community or to charitable orgs, always remember Planned Parenthood. The fundies fervently hope their legal system schemes (clearly inspired by Scientology)will deprive PP of gov't funding in perpetuity. God forbid.

In the case of one of my cousins, who ended up in a hospital with 11 blood transfusions because she had polyps and was in her period, it could be life-threatening not to have her BC.

From the WSJ:
For decades, federal law has said that doctors and nurses can't be compelled to perform abortions. The new regulation broadens that to make clear that all health-care workers may refuse to provide information, such as a referral, to patients looking for an abortion. The Department of Health and Human Services estimates the regulation would affect 584,000 hospitals, doctor's offices, pharmacies and other entities.
So, federal law already dictates that no one may be compelled to provide someone an abortion. Why would we need more regulation? Because this is just a way to smother women with an archaic, myopic view of an already very narrow conservative morality. I'm so upset I can barely type.
