In Amazonia/Africa, witchcraft and sorcery is still alive and well. The integration of modern medicinal practices into it is kinda nifty.

My fave was this situation where a kid was acting out right after his father packed his suitcase in front of him one night and said "I'm leaving and I'm never coming back, so this is goodbye, son". My supervisor's verdict? The kid's mom had BPD.

And as a P.S. the writers of The Exorcist studied their history because I read an account of a demon posession from pre-reformation Germany that was word-for-word exactly the same as the posession of the little girl in the movie.

"Witches" as witches are still part of other cultural groups, though, as you've pointed out in Africa and in Navajo culture some harm is still attributed to witchcraft.
