I remember seeing that snow leapord photo in my National Geographic and just stopping and staring for a while. I think it says a lot for the photographer that a still image can still capture and hold our attention (for minutes for me) in this fast-paced world.
I agree with Gobblegirl...the pic of the monkey being roasted for sale as bushmeat is really disturbing. Haunting, frankly. Christ! Bushmeat???? Just horrible. And don't even get me started on the turtles being ripped out of their little shells.
wow amazing! They all have really intense eyes (well except the whale shot)And the monkey looks like he is about to narrate a nature film about his natural habitat or something lol
The worst/best one is the picture of the monkey being roasted for sale. It's dead, but it's still looking at you... it's really unsettling, but much more affecting and meaningful than the other ones (though they are incredibly beautiful and great examples of the art of photography).
The whale picture I saw in a recent National Geographic. I sat and stared at it for a few minutes, amazed and jealous as hell of that photographer (and, of course, the one who got the shot!).
these are truly amazing photos. But that macaque is so freakin' adorable. I don't know...I just don't find it creepy, but he's all "eh, what are you gonna do?"

While I can't tell what species snake it is, my bet is on the snake. They are tenacious buggers...
