I'm not into the smell of books, but these things don't seem as easy to read from as an actual book (although I've only briefly seen them). Plus, you can't pass books on like this. The publishers must love them for that, but its a serious downside in my opinion that I wouldn't be able to lend a book to my mom or sell a used book with an ebook. They sound great for a student until I remember that you'd be out the whole cost and not able to sell any of them back.

My favorite?

I love books, particularly old ones. I cannot pass a second hand bookshop and rarely come away without at least one additional volume. I now have quite a collection!
Whenever I read, the start of the journey is always opening the book and breathing deeply. Don't you find there are few things more wonderful than the smell of a much-loved book? Newly printed books certainly smell very different from older ones. The ink is so crisp. I've also noticed that books from different periods & different countries also have very different smells. And then there are the scents of different bindings: leather is marvelous of course but I find a peculiar pleasure in musty worn clothbound books as well. Perhaps just a hint of mildew!
The main note in this scent was copied from one of my favorite books - I happened to find a signed first edition of this novel a few years ago in London. I was more than a little excited because there were only ever a hundred in the first place!
*I don't necessarily want my favorite scents to be worn by every jezzie

I think the thing with CB is that his perfumes aren't really meant to be worn for the benefit others. Like, I can splash on other perfumes with the intention of having other people enjoy it, but I never do that with CB. His stuff's more like an aura, and I pick to be in-tune with however I'm feeling (or want to feel). But never for someone else.
I usually wear In The Library when I'm writing something that's meant to sound or feel old, like steampunky stuff. I looooove Caravan, that one's just comforting and close. And that 1966 Beach one's great, very accurate and reminds me of summers spent lifeguarding.
But he's also got Violet Empire, which is otherworldly to me. Sigh. They're all great, really. And as far as I know, none of them smell of freaking bacon.

Please note I own this book, it isn't from the library.
