You think if I submitted the story about when I cut the skin off the legs of my neighbor's Barbie just to see how her legs moved then cooked said skin in a mud pie with my Make It and Bake It Over, Mattel would print it?

BODY image, perhaps. But Barbie always had a job. She was a doctor, a teacher, a mentor to Skipper. She also had her own crib, her own car, and never married the cute-but-closeted Ken. Gotta admire that.

Hey, maybe this show will bring back the good Barbie!

And Cameron makes my ovaries ache. Seriously.

Pro-Barbie Jezzies, let's link elbows and stand on our freakishly small tippy toes!

Plus, I've always liked that Barbie has been given so many careers, and a lot of them are not jobs that are traditionally held by women:

And I clearly have memories of my Astronaut Barbie...sometimes I believe Barbie gets a bad rap.

That said, this is a pretty awesome episode! She sounds like ten year old me.

Anyway, Amy Poehler totally cancels out any Barbie ickiness there may be.

Maybe next episode?

And gotta love the Will Arnett cameo at the end during the dance party!

When I was a girl I had fun with trampoline marathons, coming up with fun stories, playing in the woods, building forts, saving worms from certain death in the driveway after it rained, etc. Being a little girl is about so much more than Bonne Belle (though that's a part of it), clothes and little boys, and it's about time someone acknowledges that.
