From the perspective of the benefit of the country as a whole, wouldn't it make more sense to give priority to younger men who have more years to reproduce and likely have younger, more fertile wives?
I won't be satisfied until science has discovered a way to give men the ability to jizz in different colors. I'm tired of pearl necklaces. Throw me a string of emeralds or sapphires every now and then.
@TheFormerJuneBronson: You successfully did the explain-why-it's-funny-thing without making it not funny in the process! Congratulations, it's not an easy task. :)
I was excited for an instant when my eyes fixed on the tub in tubular shape, being more tub shaped than hour glass myself. Then I realised it was tubular as in straight up and down. The time when apple shapes are finally given their moment in the sun cannot come fast enough for me. #bodyshapes
Maybe we should just aspire to not describing ourselves using inanimate objects and fruits as descriptors. (i.e. apple, pear, hourglass, tubes, inverted triangles etc, etc.)
@Ulookinatmyjunk, JOC: we're not referring to "you" as that, just your silouette. I never heard of inverted triangle, was just always easier to say "V" shape.
not trying to start an argument, but its hard to paint a mental picture without some description like this. I have used it only for convenience and never for offense. #bodyshapes
@10pninjas: A body is a body. All of the descriptors sort of give an impression that one may be better than another and that's simply not true. It's a body. Bodies are different for myriad reasons: genetics, exercise and eating habits etc. I think we should probably grow beyond this. If you defy labels than they really won't apply. And the inverted triangle part was a joke. #bodyshapes
@Ulookinatmyjunk, JOC: if the descriptors gave that impression, yes, it would be far from untrue. I've known that enough by my own attractions. I've been attracted to women of many body types including one more masculine then my own, most simply because i love the person more then the body. But if you're describing it just to describe...
its just hard to see that just describing how something looks it hurtful. i mean, sure...point out cellulite, crows feet and other hurtful specifics, that i can understand. But giving a decription of general height, weight, color and build...i think if you found neutral descriptions offensive, you should work on changing them if you can. On the biggest loser, these people are still big but they appreciate every pound lost, they are working to make a difference. But thats only shame on the offended if they take offense to neutral and do nothing about it. People trying to make a difference can still be hurt by malicious words.
my bad on the inverted part. you're still funny, i just wasnt quick enough to catch it. #bodyshapes
Yeah, tell me something I don't know. I find this out anew every time I try to shop for clothes and can only find pants that fit over my rear if I can stuff my four-year-old child into the waistband with me. #bodyshapes
@redqueenmeg: both Gap and Ann Taylor have a 'curvy' fit that helps with that. But, yes, I feel like enlightening someone to the fact that I have hips and a waist and that they are not the same size. #bodyshapes
@banana_grabber: I'll check Gap again after I'm no longer pregnant, but every time I've tried there before, since about 1992, I've found the same waistband problem. :D #bodyshapes
@redqueenmeg: It's a relatively new line. And I just recently got a pair of wide-leg trouser jeans at Goodwill made by Banana Republic that fit like a dream, so you might try there (BR) as well. #bodyshapes
I'm pretty shocked that the participants wanted 31" hips. I just checked the both the J Crew and Oasis (UK high street brand) charts and the smallest they carry is 35". 31" is literally children's sizes.
I'm not sure these numbers mean anything. If you don't actually know how small 31" hips are, the fact that you want them doesn't necessarily mean anything.
The whole hourglass thing is kind of meaningless unless people are using a tape measure on actual people. Often girls who are pear shaped or top heavy are described as hourglass because it is used to mean attractive and curvy.
Well, as a member of team-tube, I can say that many clothing lines are NOT designed for our body type. Good luck finding a pair of pants that is not too baggy on your small hips while making your waist-that-is-the-same-measurement look large. And any style of dress that's supposed to be cut flowy and fall straight down? I look like a walking rectangle. Awesome. #bodyshapes
@bluetrain84: Ha! See to me, as a member of team hourglass, it seems the complete opposite!
Skirts that if large enough to fit nicely around my hips, have a good 4 inch gap at the waist that just kind of hangs there and looks like crap if I tuck a shirt into it...
Grass is greener, I guess, or we're at extremes of some in-between average that clothes are made in? #bodyshapes
@bluetrain84: @formergr: As someone sort of in between, it seems clothes from the rack will rarely fit properly--no matter the shape of one's body. #bodyshapes
@bluetrain84: ugh. yes. There are 2 brands of jeans that don't do that too me, and all of the others give me muffin top hanging over the top while still managing to be baggy on my butt and hips. HOW?!
And all the empire waisted stuff.... to make matters worse, I have large-ish boobs to go with the rest of me being straight with no curves, so it all hangs like 5 inches away from my actual stomach, making me look pregnant. Not "fat" but actually pregnant. :( #bodyshapes
@mrsdracomalfoy: Are we the same person?? I only own jeans from Express, nowhere else, and empire-waisted shirts/tunics are the bane of my existence. My sister and I call ourselves pancake people because we may look thin from the side, but look like a giant rectangle from the front. #bodyshapes
so, basically, we continue to want to look like we somehow avoided puberty?
The language used above---"aspire" is funny...really, aspiring to a body shape is an exercise in futility. You can gain/lose weight but you are going to have the body type you were destined to have, just with larger or smaller measurements. Aspiration is useless. #bodyshapes
@lucystrawberry: Tier 2 is the new black: "Aspiration is useless." I picture a deadpan German nihlist putting this on a t-shirt and sitting in stone-faced judgment of others and, madamoiselle, it is a thing of beauty. I also dream of painting this phrase in my child's nursery in fanciful, mural-style writing.
(On a serious note: This. Absolutely.) #bodyshapes
@lucystrawberry: Women who wear under a C cup totes avoided puperty. They aren't real women. If a woman is thin, she doesn't look like a woman!
/extreme sarcasm. #bodyshapes
@lucy: You really want to go there and tell some of us that we look like we "avoided puberty"? Okay, then.
And I think rixatrix may have been on to something when she wondered what the effect of women being increasingly involved in athletics might have on our shapes. I'd love to be curvy and athletic, but when I am working out a lot, or playing sports, I get thin, flatter and strong, and I don't think it's a bad thing. No, you can't completely change your body type, but to say that exercising just makes whatever proportions you have larger or smaller isn't completely accurate. #bodyshapes
@femme-bot: gak. Open mouth, insert foot. I am sorry, I sounded like a real jerk above. Thanks for calling me on it. I will think more carefully next time before I write anything like that. #bodyshapes
@lucystrawberry: Tier 2 is the new black: Hey, guess what! Women (not girls who have not gone through puberty) come in a huge range of sizes and shapes, all of which are entirely normal. #bodyshapes

I am also wearing sexy patterned tights and high heels and managed to pull my uncontrolable hair into a purty cascade.
I got a couple good looks on the subway.
That's all I got. #bodyshapes
