My high school had the best lunches ever, and they served some of the pasta dishes with this giant doughy roll that was probably the best bread product I've ever had. Now I'm sad.
My little sister has an identical back pack that also sports an Ugly Doll, though I'm not sure which one. In related news, I want to eat Sasha Obama up with a spoon. She is the cutest kid ever.
@beastybeatsy: Quaker schools are great for all parties involved. The kids get a lot of personal attention. Everyone I know who went to quaker school always loved it.
@andonthatnote loves all you fucking dykes: I went to Quaker school, this is why my mother approves. Maybe also that she has the same taste in schools as the President of the US...
@beastybeatsy: I went to Quaker schools (and college come to that) and my parents also think it shows good character. They also say that even though Sidwell is more posh then other Quaker schools, it shows they are putting their daughters safety and education first. (Safety because Sidwell is accustomed to security issues after Chelsea). My parents are apparently quite opinionated about this.
Did anyone else check the full lunch menu out? They get tomato basil soup, organic spinach salad, and steamed broccoli today. These kids eat waaay better than I do.
@MySymphony: Well, the parents are paying nearly $30,000 per child, which pays for higher quality foods than, say, the bologna sandwiches served in my Catholic school's cafeteria.
Was the lunchlady named Beatrice? In my experience, all lunchladies are named Beatrice. And if so, I want Beatrice's exclusive comment on whether or not the girls ate all of their zucchini bread.
Reading about school makes me really miss being in school. Not college or high school, elementary school. I want my lunch served to me piping hot on a plastic tray. And I want recess.
@morninggloria: But I'm in college, and I have recess all the time! That is, I take naps and play frisbee in between my classes. And I'm currently eating a piping hot lunch served to me in the dining hall ... while writing a 20-page paper that is due in three and a half hours. So yeah, maybe elementary school would be nice.
@morninggloria: I never even had recess. Damn Int'l Studies program. We had an extra hour of Spanish everyday and no recess. I should have taken advantage of nap time in kindergarten when I had the chance...
@dearheart: I got moved from kindergarten to 1st grade after just two weeks, so I totally missed out on nap time! Well, I had it for those two blissful weeks...but then never again. I used to wish I could reclaim my nap time rights in high school...

It was pulled? That wasn't very nice. How did they pull it into a braid? I can't pull things like that.
