I thought the white dress was down to Queen Victoria, with blue originally being the colour to symbolise purity. Anyone out there able to confirm?
For anyone new to the wonder that is the Daily Mail, they blame everything wrong with Britain on immigrants (unless they're the good white kind from the USA, Australia and New Zealand), gays and women who don't know their place.

Virginity--and white bridal gowns--are not some centuries-old custom like some people think. Which is comforting to me, because neither state of being is particularly becoming to me. I don't plan on getting married anytime soon, but if I ever do, I'd like to wear something that doesn't make me look like a pizza with leprosy (I look horrible in white.)

They have since left their one-year-old with the bride's mother and taken another honeymoon that didn't require the groom spending days searching an Indonesian island for a pregnancy test, and both enjoyed it immensly.

My point being, I love the dress above and i will probably end up buying a maternity wedding dress and cutting out the tag so all my bridesmaid arent like, "something you want to tell us?"

and really, how many of us non-prego but also not-quite-virginal brides wear a white dress? we just, you know, did the deep knee bends or something.
