I got hit on more when I had a mohawk than any other hairstyle in my life. Right now I have a futuristic angular bob. My fiance prefers to be able to see my neck, as it is a major turn on for him and I haven't had hair longer than shoulder-length since I was in fifth grade. Point being, I've gotten more play than most women I know and all with short hair. This guy has no clue what he's talking about.

Strangely, I have just returned from the hairdressers, where i had my barely sholder length mop of hair cut back to an almost pixie-ish cut. And I look superb, if I do say so myself. In my 22 years on earth the longest my hair has ever been is just past shoulder length and that was when I was a self-conscious 15 year old who didn't really want anyone looking at me.
So Matt Titus, I say if you don't like short hair don't date a woman with short hair, I'll find me a bloke with some depth and character who likes me for me, not the fact I have flowing locks that will look oh so good when I'm barefoot and pregnant.

My boyfriend swears up and down that he loves long hair, but when I try to get compliments on mine, he is kind of flippant. I am thinking of going back up to above shoulder length, with some pizzazz.

Used to be that the first thing a woman in relationship crisis would do is drastically change her hair. Fresh start for her after dumping him/getting dumped. Many regret the decision, many don't. I've rocked the pixie, the long spiral perm, and I currently have some sort of chin-length flippy hybrid atm. The unenlightened men think that long hair=sexy. You don't want to fuck an unenlightened dork anyhow. Let em wank instead while you are collecting phone numbers from enlightened men who aren't threatened by a confident woman in a pixie cut.

Wow, my man friends must be far and beyond the average males because when I cut my hair to pixie short 2 years ago I did not stop getting compliments from men and women for ages! My friends and sister and mom keep telling me they loved my hair short. Now its a '20s style bob, and I only grew it out because the maintenance for the pixie is a little too much for me.

I've had chin length-or-shorter hair since April after years of keeping it long, and I love it because it's so low maintenance. And because it finally allowed me to achieve my dream of sporting a ginormous fauxhawk to the dance that the campus GSA puts on every semester.

I cut my hair short from time to time, and there's always some ignorant asshole who tells me how much better I look with short hair. Ok, so when I grow my hair out again, I'm going to look like shit? I don't understand these people.

There are dudes who like short hair! My husband isn't one of them, but I have a friend who has a huge crush on Rachel Maddow because he "loves butchies" (his words not mine.) I feel like I'm not beautiful enough to have short hair but that's a personal/confidence issue. Plenty of people look good with pixie cuts.
