I feel sorry for Lagerfeld. he is obviously angry and bitter inside and he's letting it manifest in his hateful comments. sure we all have preferences in what we find attractive, but that doesn't mean we should talk shit about people who look a certain way. because people who talk nasty shit are generally people who hate themselves most of all.
Nothing pisses me off more than the assumption that only fat women think anorexia is a problem! Perfectly normal-sized and even slender women are just as disgusted by ninety pound teenagers who are six feet tall as everyone else in the world, and they're the kind of people who ostensibly buy Chanel.
That's the issue with fashion houses that are too couture-focused; they only care what fashion editors think and could give a damn about the people who are supposed to be "buying" their "products."
@libertypie: And most of us aren't so much disgusted with the models, as concerned about the promotion of a singular, extreme beauty ideal, and the abominable labor standards in that industry.
@Hana Maru: As I said below, it's possible not to blame someone for having a disease and still find the symptoms unsettling. When I see a model like that, after my initial reaction to their physical appearance as yes, disgusting, that doesn't mean I'm not fully aware that most of the blame for that belongs with other factors beyond that woman's control. That makes it even more horrifying, frankly.
Well if there's anything reality has taught me, it's that men hate large breasts. That is how I distinguish between real life and tv- if I am walking down the street and a man yells Nice Titis! or "Hey, can I hold one?" or "Are they Real?" that is how I know I am on a secret tv show. Written by a fat woman. Duh.
I suppose I shouldn't be surprised by the health concern trolls that pop up on these threads as reliably as a Birther at a teabagger rally, but I still am.
Bottom line? If you are not a medical professional, you have no idea if someone's size is "healthy" or not, and it's not up to you to judge. Most "fat" people are perfectly aware of how they look. Your suggestion to "just eat right and exercise" is about as insightful as Whoopi calling it "rape-rape." In other words: it ain't.
Actually, the porn actress in the American Apparel add is named Faye Reagan. She changed it a year or two ago due to a copyright issue. Faye Valentine is a character in a popular anime.
@Porcelina: Faye Valentine probably models for American Apparel too. It all suddenly makes sense why she wears thong suspenders under her yellow hot-pants or whatever the hell that outfit is.

Oh wait...that's right I have no children and I work out 3+ times a week and can't even remember the last time I ate a bag of chips.
...at least I don't look like an 80 year old Paris Hilton.

I find this kind of self-loathing induced hatred to be rather refreshing.
