    I wonder if the mother shark was actually having problems with labor. The article suggests it wasn't a random bite because of the bite needing to be in the right location. #jaws

    I just called my senator to demand shark cesarean sections be covered under the public option. It'll cut healthcare costs dramatically in the long run. Because really, buying one shark to bite into everyone's pregnant bellies will be cheaper than buying scalpels... after 100 years or so. #jaws

    I am confused as to why the baby sharks would have immediately been munched upon had they been born naturally. I realize the keepers wouldn't have been there to remove them from the tank, but still -- surely baby sharks are born and survive in the wild without becoming dinner. #jaws

    @cate3710: true and not true. they are still eaten in the wild, but they're in a really big big ocean. so the chances of them getting away from the adults are higher than when they are in an enclosed tank with other adults. #jaws
