I like that she plays in her jewelry. People are always asking me why I don't take my necklaces and things off at night or to do active stuff.

@Flackette Goes Retro: How can it be legal for tennis players to wear so much jewelry, particularly rings and earrings? In the sports I played growing up (lacrosse and field hockey) were weren't allowed, since a ball flying at your ear could end up creating a puncture wound, or if you injured a finger and it swelled, a ring could make it worse. I'm surprise they can do it, if only for insurance reasons. (Maybe not so much at the higher levels, but I would think at the youth level, it would be forbidden, and then people would just grow up playing with no jewelry and get accustomed to it.)

Plus it looks hella annoying to wear all that jazz while you're sprinting.

@Clare116: Most of the reason sports require you to take off jewelry is because they are contact sports, or have to possibility of contact. I wore rings and a necklace through a high school and university tennis career, but had to take them off for volleyball.

I was lucky enough to see Serena Williams play at Roland Garros a couple of years ago, and it was pretty much the highlight of my tennis-loving life. She's just like a prowling lion on the court, all power and perfect timing. 'Mazing.

Wish I was there this year.
