"Why isn't anyone talking about the charity work and all of the charitable organizations that Carrie's involved in?"
Why doesn't SHE start talking about her charitable work? Does she do any? Who the hell would know; all she's done is whine about being a victim. But she's got that down to a T.
Jesus, Kristen Stewart, I've defended you over and over again. Don't start with this women are from venus men are from mars anti-feminist ugly stereotyping.
See, I thought "innate female qualities" were things like the ability to breastfeed. I didn't realize being fickle was on that list - thanks for clearing that up, Kristen.
Shut up Kristen Stewart. The only innate female quality I can think of is having two X chromosomes. Being fickle isn't a female quality. Also I think you meant feminine, because quality does not have a gender.
Well, I hope that Twilight hasn't completely sucked (pun intended) Chris Weitz's will to make movies; I loved About a Boy, In Good Company, and even American Pie. I hope he's got a few more good ones in him.
Okay Blake, I understand anyone can feel powerless in high school, but feeling powerless because you had long, blonde hair? What kind of high school did you go to, because at my high school long, blonde hair = power. #lindsaylohan
@yvanehtnioj: She inherited an estate from her father, I assume. I hope she has someone to help her manage that. And as someone who has spent time around entertainment industry people, not having a credit card or cash on them isn't uncommon. The business manager or a travel agent probably made her reservation then she was left without a means to fix whatever problem arose. #lindsaylohan
@cmd: Well, I know she has money. But money != business. She's not actually in the entertainment industry, she's just the child of ... oh fuck it, I don't actually care this much. It just struck me as odd. #lindsaylohan
Bunsen Honeydew promoted this comment
The Plain People of Ireland (formerly cheerfulp is always...) was starred
The Plain People of Ireland (formerly cheerfulp is always...) was unstarred
@that's what she said: This is all a ruse to get us to figure out what exactly an "aggressive title" means. "Crimes and Misdemeanors," I suppose I get. #lindsaylohan
@Kakapo: I assumed he was talking about "Scoop," which I complained about so much on my way out of the independent theater that I upset a bunch of old people. #lindsaylohan
I used to like Natalie Portman but the more she speaks the more she shows herself to be as out of touch from reality as she tries to hide that fact. The Polanski thing (petition signing), relating meat eating to rape and today I read something where she said that the internet is interfering with her ability to perform her art as an actress (she was referring to specifically porn sites but it is still ridiculous notion and the question was not focused on internet porn but the web in general. Oh and all the things that might be wrong with internet porn... she managed to make it about how it affects her job??).
I agree that roles for women in the 40's must be more difficult... but isn't she in her 20's? #lindsaylohan
@unmoldednicole: I'm glad that women in their 20s realize how difficult it is for women in their 40s to get parts in movies due to the commodification of the female body in Hollywood. It doesn't just affect "old" women, it affects the parts offered to "young" women, and it's something that has an impact on how all women are viewed (by themselves, other women, men).
I don't know what interview you're talking about regarding the porn sites and her job, but I imagine that being a pretty young actress, especially one who was in a Star Wars movie and has therefore become an iconic image for a huge franchise that's spawned many parodies etc, involves seeing one's self played in porn movies. That would make me very uncomfortable. If there was porn on the internet that was supposed to be about me, I'd probably start associating the internet with fucking up my life, as well.
No excuses for the Polanski bullshit, though. #lindsaylohan
Maybe I'm being resentful towards the Polanski petition signing but I didn't like how the most insightful thing she could say about the internet (and internet porn) is how it affects her job. It seemed narcissistic.
This is not the quote but my interpretation:
"I agree with nudity and sex in movies, but the accessibility of nudity and sex on the internet is lowering the the value of nudity and sex in general and therefore lowering the value of my nudity".
If you google "Natalie Portman V Magazine" it comes up.
I agree with you though on the younger actresses realizing in their 20's that the discrimination older actresses are facing in this field.
