    @fattiefatty2by4: Ah! I said in the post, "of the past 10 years." Mostly because the NBC site made it difficult to get clips from beyond that- every Gilda Radner clip I clicked wasn't working, sadly. So I stuck with the late 90's/00's.

    I saw Garofalo describe her SNL experience once--I can't remember whether this was a routine or part of an on-camera interview. She compared it to when the U.S. government gave smallpox-infested blankets to Native Americans. She held out her hands, adopted an expression of profound gratitude, and delivered a hearty "Thanks! ... I don't feel so good."


    Chris Elliott, like Andy Kaufman before him, has a brand of comedy that seems to rely on making people profoundly uncomfortable, then taking their confused, nervous laughter as evidence that he's funny. I hope his daughter is, you know, actually funny. She must be an It Girl, since she's barely old enough to drink legally, which I believe a recent Jez story revealed to be one of the It prerequisites.

    i'm completely torn by Kristen Wiig. I *want* to like her, and sometimes she's really, really funny. but it seems like 90% of her characters are her twitching and trailing off as she speaks...which might be funny once (as in her McCain rally lady) but gets old after a while. do i just lack a sense of humor?
