She doesn't even know Montreal is in Canada.

Also I LOVED the way she demanded their call letters like she thought she could go after them in some way. That's part of the real Sarah Palin, too, I think. Queen of the "cross me and I punish you but good".

That's really the only way I can figure that she'd find nothing unusual about the guy just calling out-of-the-blue.
Also - I think she tipped her hand - she definitely wants the Presidency. Most of you NYer's already know that because of this article: [www.newyorker.com]
Poor Hillary must have a big 'ol ulcer by now...

Why would Sarkosy call her? I've worked on campaigns. When calls this important happen aides say this is why they are calling blah, blah, blah and prepped the candidate.
I agree with the early comment that she is someone who resents people smarter than her instead of maybe trying to learn something. She is the extreme version of the "Mean Girl".
I hope after next week we don't have to hear from her again. The only good thing is this VP choice will force the GOP to do some real soul searching. What kind of party do they want to be?

I figure she's at a hotel, right? Maybe she has a Secret Service detail? The front desk or the Feds should have been tipped before she even picked up the phone from the assistant.
@Plum Spaniel: If her staff had any brains or self-respect, they'd probably be working for someone else.

That being said I can only imagine as soon as she hung up the phone, she tore her aide a new one, "what, you put out for the first asshole with an accent?"

Well-played, mes amis. Well-played.

Guy: She's a-right. We all talk like Maurice Chevalier! Oh ho ho!

And when it started getting weird, my Midwestern politeness would kick in, and I'd go along with whatever they're saying because I don't want to be rude.
I mean, I'm pretty sure I would have figured it out by the time he said "We have the equivalent of Joe the Plumber in France, it's called, 'Marcel, the guy with bread under his armpit, oui.'"
But until about then, they'd have had me.
I need to become more suspicious...

Also: "Mettre du rouge à lèvres sur une cochonne" means to put lipstick on a (female) pig, but the word cochonne also means a horny/dirty woman. Oh God...

I have been alternating among being amused, cringing and wanting to crawl into a hole so the people in other countries can't see us. Remember the headline in the German newspaper after Bush was reelected: "How Dumb Can They Be?"
Well, Sarah Palin is how dumb we can be.
