I voted in NY and the Supreme Court Justices were on the ballot. I thought the President picked them, not voters.

People who clearly know little about politics seem to assume that the president has far more power then he/she actually do. Since Congress still exist, you can stop your crying and act like rational adults.

Cry. Start looking for academic positions out of the US, since biological research here is going to hell with Ms. Dinosaurs-died-in-the-flood-and-evilutio....

Keep on fighting the good fight for Puerto Rico's independence- if you guys choose morons to preside over you, we shouldn't have to fucking deal with them.

Also, feel my uterus shrink, give thanks for my contraceptive implant, volunteer even more doing science outreach in schools, and tell myself I will never have kids within the US mainland.

Someone should tell Pareene that the American way to count liquor is in Fifths of Gallons, i.e. "a fifth of whiskey/bourbon." Or, Joe Fiftho'whiskey. (A fifth is roughly 750mL.)

I'd console myself by thinking maybe McCain's 45 nucular power plants he wanted to build would take longer to do and get more bogged down in paperwork and opposition than the 'more troops' Obama wanted to send into Afghanistan, which could be done easily in secret without anyone noticing except the unfortunate families of those people who would be involved. What was the question again? If Sarah got to be President? Hey, think about it. What difference would it make. Politicians are, underneath the labels, very much alike. They all have flaws, they all have crazy ideas, and they all disappoint.

Get an IUD and stock up on Plan B for friends. Spend the next 4 years as a functional alcoholic. Donate all excess funds to turning the Senate and House as blue as Lake Tahoe and protecting Planned Parenthood, the World Wildlife Fund, and the Sierra Club.

Or I'll just move to Northern California, go off grid and open an illegal 24-hr bar on private property.
