    Methinks a disclaimer is in order on this post, as a lot of people seem confused about Landover Baptist -- including Sadie? I can't tell. Anyway, the real crazies do a good enough job of making me wish for a parallel dimension to hide out in; I don't think we need to waste any of our righteous indignation on something that is poking fun at this kind of logic. #romanpolanski

    You know, I'm glad the first thing is a parody, because that was freaking painful, but reading the LA Times piece, I can't say I'm feeling much better about all those real-life-apologists

    Along the way, various people would scrub the core allegations into something more benign — a probation officer would deem the crime a "spontaneous" act of "poor judgment," a prison psychiatrist would call it "playful mutual eroticism."

    I mean, really? REALLY? Can't someone just take a second to think about what this grown ass man did to a thirteen year old girl and think "maybe this isn't worth protecting?"

    I wish this behavior wasn't so common that parodies like that were believable. The World needs to work on not people so COMPLETELY full of shit,
    BECAUSE OTHERWISE I THINK I'M QUITTING AND GOING TO LIVE ON AN ISLAND SOMEWHERE WITH MY BOOKS AND TV SHOWS ON DVD AND MAYBE SOME WHISKEY AND THE ONLY WAY ANYONE WILL BE ABLE TO CONTACT ME IS BY FLYING A SKYWRITER OVER ME AND THEY HAD BETTER ONLY DO THAT WHEN THEY CAN SAY "HEY DODGERGIRL, WHAT'S UP? YOU CAN COME HOME NOW, BECAUSE PEOPLE AREN'T STUPID FUCKING IDIOTS ANYMORE! AND THE DODGERS WON THE WORLD SERIES!"

    That LA Times article linked is the best piece of journalism I've read on the whole thing. I thought I'd exhausted all my outrage but the details are horrendous, from Angelica Houston being a dick right down to the psychiatrist who analyzed Polanski and concluded the shitbag deserved some credit for anally raping due to his "solicitude concerning pregnancy." #romanpolanski

    Err...somebody who's so big on "biblical law" might (in my opinion) have an issue with Polanski anally raping his victim so as not to get her pregnant, what with that whole "sex for procreation only" thing. But hey, that's why I'm not an expert on biblical law.
