@Rocket Queen: yeah, the price tag of looking that good is always a deterrent. didn't some gossip mag say that it costs jennifer aniston somewhere in the ballpark of over $30K a month to look the way she does?

This "Idol Worship" of Angelina Jolie is getting very arduous. I understand your "Lady Love" for this woman but at some point, one has to realize that of all the places, this should not be the place where the "worship" of beauty is so ever-present.
You are, indeed, the "friend" I both love and hate and
whose dichotomous messages are oft times confusing.
Sincerely,
Scout

I admire Angelina for her philanthropy. That is longer-lasting and far more worthwhile than her looks, and I bet she is smart enough to understand that.

Are we really saying we think she's perfect? Flawless? Why are we doing this to ourselves?
We've got to realize that her "effortless perfection" is a carefully orchestrated illusion. Right? RIGHT?! She's wearing makeup for Heather's Sake! Perfect people don't need makeup, remember?
I'm sure if we all look hard enough, we'd find more than a few flaws not just with her outside appearance but her character as well. I mean, I'm sure she wakes up with bead head, stank breath, and eye boogers, rolls her eyes at Brad and gets frustrated with her kids. And EVERYONE farts on occasion. C'mon!
Don't get me wrong, Angelina is exceptionally beautiful and seems like a wonderful person, but... NOBODY is perfect. She puts her panties on one leg at a time, just like the rest of us. I'm not going to elevate anyone to such a high level of perfection as to question whether they are human or not.
I'm just saying... I refuse to do this to myself anymore, constantly comparing peoples strengths to my weaknesses. It's freaking exhausting. Srsly, aren't y'all tired if doing that?
Remember, no one can make you feel inferior without your permission. My Soror Elanor Roosevelt said that.
/loving rant
PS... yes I know this is an SJ and I'm totally missing the point but quite frankly I don't care.

i'm totally with you on this. it's like jezebel turns into maxim or esquire every time they post the requisite dozen weekly photos of angelina jolie. why does jezebel constantly focus on her physical beauty? for a blog that derides the objectification of women, it seems to have no problem objectifying angelina jolie. to what end i still haven't figured out.
