    Gah!!! Why are the writers here ok with the government having control over what we do with our vaginas (cf. later post about prostitution), but not our uteruses???? Can we please get the laws off our bodies altogether?

    Good god, she's the only one. I honestly believe that Obama carried Colorado in no small part because moderate Republicans in CD-4 who despise Musgrave crossed over to vote for Betsy.


    I have no words for satisfying it has been to watch the religious right self-destruct up and down I-25 over the past four years.

    Yeah, Republicans lost because they aren't conservative ENOUGH. And Obama should govern to the right because he doesn't have a "mandate." Pro-Choice people should support overturning Roe v. Wade, even though American voters rejected that concept when it was on the ballot.


    Are we going to have to listen to this WHARRGARBL for the next eight years?

    I absolutely dispise the notion that abortion should be a states' rights issue. If my fundamental rights to my bodily intergrity change as I cross states lines, I am a second class citizen of the United States of America. If I can't live in every state in this great nation if I want to maintain autonomy over my body, I am a second class citizen of the United States of American. If my uterus becomes a ward of the state depending on some lines on a map, I am a second class citizen of the United States of America.


    To make me a second class citizen is wrong, backwards, and violates the promise and hope of America. I'm not going back, bitches.

    I've never met a pro-lifer that adopted a child. I'd respect them a WHOLE LOT more if they made an effort to take in would-be aborted babies who are dropped off in foster care only to become criminals when they are not adopted and then rape a young girl--and the cycle continues...

    They wake up in the morning with anger and hatred of our cause, spend the day leveraging the energy from it into brilliant strategy, and go to bed thinking they have saved the world from anger and hatred.


    This is true, but tiring, so I limit myself to one such day a year.

    Unfortunately for Dannenfelser, this year that day fell on Nov. 4 and I leveraged my energy and voted against Musgrave.


    I suppose it makes me a bad person to admit that I don't know who I voted for but I have a whole year to atone.

    Maybe I'll store up the next three years so I can unleash all the crazy at one time next election.


    So many choices...

    Murkowski is anti-abortion. What does that win her in a libertarian-ish state that legalized abortion before Roe v. Wade? Or does the nepotistic mofo really think she has a shot at the presidency or vice presidency?

    Wait wait - hold on. Susan B. Anthony did, often, in her writings, discuss her anti-abortion feelings. They don't think she's anti-abortion because she voted Republican, and let's not twist things, just because we disagree.


    Anthony felt like abortion was unsafe for women (and it was) and felt like the need to have abortions came out of women's unfortunate circumstances that were largely the result of their inequality with men. She felt her anti-abortion views were in line with her ideals about women's rights.


    She was 1/2 right, too -- inequality is often what puts women in the position that leads them to want an abortion -- though these days it's more likely to be a class issue than one of gender.


    That said, bitch, stay out of my uterus.

    OMFG. Like I'm not already experiencing rage blackouts over the election day gay hate.

    For jeebus sake, they can't even get an abortion ban passed in a state (south dakota) that voted for the anti-choice presidential ticket. Wake up!

    I think what astounds me the most about the anti-choice & anti-gay movements is the ridonkulous amounts of money they pour into their attempts to legislate with their religion. Think of how very much more "pro-life" it would be to give that money to cancer research or autism research or, lord forbid, sex education. Just any cause that promotes improving actual human lives.
