It keeps confusing me that people say Michael's mother would be the guardian. Aren't his parents still together? So, Joe and Katherine would both be the guardians, right?

Anyway, I think their godparents should get custody: Macaulay Culkin and Elizabeth Taylor. If only Dame Liz were in better health :(

@wordinedgewise: Ah, okay. I thought that might be the case, but everything I found mentioned nothing about a divorce or separation. Judging from everything I've heard Michael say about his dad, I am certain he would not have wanted his father to raise his children.

@save jinger: The will and/or the court could still appoint only his mother as guardian, which means that his father would have no legal right to make decisions for the children (medical, etc.)

In my will, I specified my brother only as guardian for my daughter because his then-wife was not someone I wanted making decisions for my child, nor did I want there to be any question if they were to divorce that I wanted my daughter to stay with my brother.

@doodley is not amused: This is something I've wondered about. My best friend is to be my son's godmother and ideally in my Will I'd like to have her as a guardian. I happen to despise her husband and think he's an awful parent (whereas she's amazing) and I don't want him making ANY decisions for my child whatsoever. I have considered not putting her in the Will for this reason; becuase I'm scared that them being married and living together would give him free license over my child.

Dear NYLON, if you are reading: Stop trying to make Peaches Geldof happen. And Cory Kennedy. And Daisy Lowe. I like Alexa Chung since she is pretty funny and actually has done hosting gigs in the UK for Popworld and the like over the last few years, but all these other useless "It" girls who live off their trust funds or jump into dumpsters need to DIAF fast.
