Freelance artist Sarah Lyon travels the country on her motorcycle to meet female car, motorcycle, hot rod, marine, jet aircraft, bicycle, and race car mechanics, and has produced the calendar for the past three years. Lyon said she was inspired by her experience working as a carpenter and motorcycle mechanic in shops where she felt like an anomaly for being a women. "I feel that it is so important for people to see that there are women who actualy work these jobs, and can thrive if given the opportunity to learn," she said. [Boing Boing]
