I was in New York for 9 days, and saw John Lithgow, Will Smith, Michael Pitt, Sabrina Lloyd, and Mischa Barton, but I didn't talk to any of them. The biggest name I've ever talked to, probably, is Kelly Buchberger (it was for work).

Now, I'm from IN, so I know from Evan Bayh. (He's not his father, that's for sure.) But isn't he making some sense here? I mean, I'm not sure what the odds are on Lieberman resigning because the Dems call him on his bullshit and take away his chairmanship, but isn't it safer to have the Devil We Know than the Devil We Don't?

@lautaylo: I usually get the "devil you know" reasoning, but he's gone so bananas lately, I'm not sure they really know him. What if he becomes totally unpredictable? It may be a good gamble. I guess the only way to gauge whether it's worth it is if people were able to guess who would be appointed to his seat and I certainly don't know enough about CT Republicans to do so, so I don't know. Still, it sucks that there's no retribution for being a pissy child.

I never see famous people. Once at the airport my husband spotted a celebrity particular to my interests, Celia Cruz, but not his. He pointed her out to me.

Then I realized I'm just oblivious cuz she had on the big sparkly sunglasses and a turban, and her husband was with her, wearing a pin that said "Celia Cruz".

Gabriel Byrne drinks coffee in the same place as me almost every day, he has been my celebrity crush for years. Sadly I can never get the nerve to say anything to him, but he probably wonders who the crazed looking lady with the baby is and whether she's about to stab him.

In other celeb news Quentin Tarantino once shouted at me for walking into him by accident on the lower east side and Uma Thurman, who was with him, told him to calm down. But the rest of my celebs are cheats as I had to interview them so it doesn't count.

@MadameO - has Obama face!!!: I have yet to buy my own laptop and I'm... cheap isn't the right word; cheap people think I'm extravagant and normal people think I'm cheap. But I'm thinking about paying the extra money for a Mac because I use one at work and the programs are more user-friendly and it isn't always crashing and shit. I have very, very short patience and all the issues I have with PCs send me into irrational fits of rage.

@r.n. spy hearts robert downey, jr.: If you go to the Apple site, they have reconditioned laptops, Macbooks, for way less and they are certified good as new. And if you buy from a dealer they may give you a discount, as I got through my local guys. I bought my G4 iBook 3 or 4 years ago for $800- and it is the bomb, still, though if for some reason I was able to get a Mac Air? Heaven. This never crashes, though Firefox gets snitty sometimes on certain sites. Friendly, so portable, and cute is the least of it. Plus, I will always hate Windows because they totally stole Apple's ideas for icon clicking intead of typing code keys. We're lucky anyone knows how to read anymore, what with McD's click icon registers and IM babble....
