Hang on, I though Julianne Moore had one of those super-lucrative, forsaking-all-other-cosmetics-brands deals with Revlon or sommet? Which would make her recommendations a bit risky...
But...I thought Brit was the one to request her father keep helping her out? Ugh, I don't want her to have another episode. Is no one actually medicating her? Do they think it'll make her less of a person? Because it won't.
I am heartless about Britney, I think, and I suppose I don't understand how protective people are of her.
I do not want to be cruel, but. She is an adult, and she chose to be a mother and then proved she is very bad at it. I understand that her childhood was a sad mish-mash of celebrity where she did not get a chance to be a child and that she is obviously mentally ill. I have many mentally ill friends in the same way as she is, but they are also complex, wonderful, mature individuals who struggle and do not get free passes.
I have yet to see any aspect of Britney's adult personality that isn't sad, and gauche, and self-indulgent, and self-involved. And yet also something of a blank slate, without complex morality, or, well, complex anything. I do feel sorry for her, I suppose; she will probably never be whole. But pity isn't a kind emotion. And she's no longer a child.
I wish her no ill, but I do wish she'd fade away from the spotlight. (And the picture above and that smile! Disturbing)
But maybe as a culture we continue to reflect on her what we want to see, and who we want the poor thing to be.
In other stuff: Seal and Heidi Oh So Cute! Ridiculous.
@leesie: Hmmmm. I suppose I should have clarified that point - there are aspects to her handling of the custody case, and her life in general, that I believe show a blank slate and self-involvement beyond illness. She is indeed ill, and that needs to be taken into serious consideration when discussing her. And, of course, there is no way to say where does illness end and personality flaws begin? Psychiatric issues being what they are, it's a complex subject.
But I don't think mental illness should be a dismissal of all her issues; as screwed up as she is, she doesn't deserve to be that simplified. (In good and bad ways) OF course, I believe the constant simplification of her throughout her life is a massive part of the problem.
@cheesywino: I never understood the girls in my high school loving that song. "If I was invisible, I would just watch in your room", okay creeper time for the restraining order. Thats not being a romantic thats being a stalker
I love the contrast between Nicole and Brandon's Mom. Nic is all "we have to protect him, extra protection" and his Mom is: "pfft, I'll just take him back to the bush, problem solved."
with britney making statements like that, i'm actually thankful that she doesn't have custody of her kids. if she's thinking every day is like groundhog day and she's just dealing with herself...sheesh.
I absolutely GASPED when I read the bit about "Priscilla Queen of the Desert", one of my faves of all time...yippeee!!!!!
Britney is going to be at the tree lighting. I vote for flip-switching, I really don't personally desire her cutting into the performance time of the Jonas Brothers, Beyonce and Tony Bennett, thanks very much.

DO something! Make your own decisions!
You better do it now, Brit, because you won't always have the luxury to have people do what you say.
Missed Opportunities and all.

I don't think mental illness after bearing a child (i.e., PPD) proves anything about her capacity as a mother. She's sick, with an illness.
That's like saying, "well, the cancer after her marriage made her a bad wife."
