    Attn retailers: I would spend a lot more money on clothes if you could buy clothes IN the goddamn season. January and February are the coldest months here in the Midatlantic; my husband had to search high and low for a new pair of gloves last week, and I could barely buy a new maternity sweater -- the stores were all full of floaty gauzy tops. Keep some friggin seasonal clothes in the stores PLEASE!

    @Leucadia: I feel you. I was trying to buy boots in Maine last January and the stores were almost all out. I could have bought some really cute sandals to wear in the knee-deep snow though.

    @Grim Reaper of the Forest: And like, who ACTUALLY does their seasonal shopping THAT FAR AHEAD of the actual season? It's like, once it's summer and it's actually HOT OUT, I'll be like "Hmm, I am kind of hot today, maybe I will try to find a nice little flowy dress." And then I will go to the store and it will be July and the clothes will be November. No one I know shops like this! I do not say, "Man, it's February and I am cold today, OH MAN I SHOULD BUY A GAUZY TINY SKIRT AND A HALTER TOP!"

    Oh, hey? Chloë Sevigny? The guy I buy wine from is ACTUALLY, like, the grumpiest guy on earth. I adore him because he doesn't make cutesy small talk and he barely even acknowledges me when I'm in the liquor store way too many times a week. WHICH IS PERFECT FOR ME. Because no one wants to get chatty with a perky liquor store person who is all "OH LOL MOAR WINE? HAHAH."


    He takes my money, gives me my Barefoot, and I go on my merry way with more wine than I probably need.


    Also, Banana Republic and J. Crew are lauded vocally as "the perfect bargain places for professional wear" or whatever, but until they stop trying to sell flimsy cotton tees for like $54.99, I cannot darken their doors.

    @crampyscamp: @tscheese: Well check 'em out now. Their prices are just slashed. I got a lacey work skirt at Banana for 13 dollars, and a silk shirt for 12. At J Crew I got a pair of pants, nice cords, for 16 bucks. J crew online is having an extra 30% off oonline right now. If you can find your sizes everything is legit super cheap.

I had swung back into a C&W phase, and my wife loved it a lot, and it kind of represented how I felt about her and how much I loved her. It was on our wedding CD along with Sinatra, Dean Martin, Billy Joel, and about 10 other songs.

    The perspective on that pictures seems all sorts of off-- was it taken with a fish-eye lens or something?


    That being said, I would love to see what the woman over Nicole's left shoulder is wearing from the front. As it currently appears, I don't think she is wearing any pants, skirt, or even leggings!

    @formergr: I think the reason so many pics. as of late have been so out of proportion is cos the wide-angle lens is becoming fashionable for use at red carpet events and such...wide angle is like a less intense fish eye and makes heads/faces huge and feet/legs look all tiny.
