I always do a double-take when I see Melinda McGraw on the red carpet. There's a little voice at the back of my head saying, "Now, who is that sexy, well-dressed young starlet?... OH MY GOD, IT'S BOBBIE BARRET." I know Christina Hendricks has spoken about the fact that they all play 'older', but MY GOD.
Regarding The Rock: I think its just hard for super muscular men to wear suits --Even custom made suits (which I assume he is wearing).
My husband is one of these guys. He has HUGE, broad shoulders, much like Mr. The Rock here.
Its impossible to find shirts, jackets, etc that fit him without massive tailoring (he needs to have the waist taken in to the extreme.)
My husband once received the gift of a custom fitting with one of the country's top suit makers. So, he has this beautiful custom suit that fits him perfectly, but it still looks a bit odd because the very shape of a suit accentuates his already massive shoulders.
I have a lot of football players (and former players) in my family who have this same problem.
And I can sympathize. As a petite but very curvy lady, I too go through great lengths to find clothes that fit (or pay for massive alterations on clothes that are too large/long.)
Edited: I looked at The Rock again and...yeah, something is really off. Maybe he's been working out extra hard and forgot to buy a new suit? I'm afraid (and I think he is too) that that jacket is going to rip if he raises his arms.
@pinkcrickets: I think he also just has a (n unsurprisingly) thick neck. Couple that with broad shoulders and covering them both up emphasizes this (because you don't see where one ends and the other begins) make suits difficult for big dudes.
In other The Rock news, I completely adore him: I've always thought 5'4", not muscley me and he would make awesome BFFs.
NPH needs to be my boyfriend. I'd be cool with a platonic thing since i know he doesn't like the wimminz. He could bring his partner too! I'd be happy to watch... ahem...
Leona Lewis is a beautiful woman, but the dress looks like she jumped on the purple train, slipped, and tore part of her skirt off while trying to climb back on said train.
I was really touched by Jorge Munoz (representin' NYC: woot!) who has a job as a busdriver and every single day provides hot meals to the homeless with food he and his family make themselves. He funds this with his own savings.
I think the issue with The Rock's suit is that the sleeves seem to be pulling at his armpits (for lack of a better term), which makes his shoulders look a bit pinched, leading to an overall appearance of "I don't want be here"-itis.
@remedios: And the tallness of the collar completely ate his neck right up. It made his head seem really small. He's not my type, but he is an obviously attractive man...that suit is unfortunate.

"Think of me like Yoda, but instead of being little and green I wear suits and I'm awesome. I'm your bro—I'm Broda!""

Girl, that is exactly what I thought. EXACTLY.
Nice suit, Terrence. Did you bring your own baby wipes to the evening gala? Because they probably won't provide them for you.
