"Electric Grandmother," where a robot-grandmother is sent to live with a motherless family is the scariest shit I have ever seen. Its supposed to be heartwarming, but trust me, it is not. Behold: #scarymovies
I would submit the animated version of Watership Down. The first time I saw it I had the screamin meemees for weeks. I watched it again not too long ago and while I am meemee free it's still a little disturbing for some reason. #scarymovies
@wyndelyn: Oh no, that movie terrified me. My dad showed it to me cos I was obsessed with bunnies when I was five, and hey, this was a movie about bunnies. Bloodthirsty, murderous bunnies. And floating ghost bunnies that eventually takes the cute little bunny up and away when he dies.
That Bright Eyes song still makes me shiver. #scarymovies
*Gasp!* It took me all day to remember that Return to Oz even begins on a scary note, with Dorothy tossed into a looney bin because of her continued refusals to acknowledge Oz was just a dream. Years before it happened to Sarah Connor. #scarymovies
There was a live action version of Through the Looking Glass that left me incredibly unsettled as a child. For a childrens movie it was quiet and with very little joy or mirth to it.
I remember being quite scared of ET the first time I watched it. I also did not like the scorpion scene in "Honey I shrunk the Kids" one bit. #scarymovies
The mid 80s made-for-tv version of Alice in Wonderland movie was terrifying. Not only was the Jabberwocky nightmare-inducing, but Carol Channing scared the bejeezus out of me. I rented it on Netflix not too long ago, and yep, still scary. #scarymovies
G'mork lived in my backyard. I was utterly convinced between the ages of 6 and 12 and nightmared nearly every night. I can feel the nightmares coming on again at the very suggestion.
I had to adblock that picture of him. Couldn't take it. #scarymovies
@HadwinBabazoid: If you found Mary Poppins scary, then this trailer is made for you. Or really, made for you to never watch. (I've had too much wine) #scarymovies
@thecameralovesyou: omg i had to stop watching it. ive never been afraid of mary poppins but this was freaky. and not in the flight of the conchords way. #scarymovies
@englishbreakfasttasteslikedarj...: I know. I couldn't believe it the first time I watched it. Just goes to show how much music and editing can make something scary as all hell. #scarymovies
E.T. scared the hell out of me when I was little. My father had to take me out of the theater cause I was screaming at the top of my lungs. Still can't watch that movie to this day.
Also, Goonies was pretty screwed up. All the skeletons and the guy with the messed up face. Too much to handle for my elementary years. #scarymovies
@Daniele: I had to be removed from the theater because I was screaming too much in E.T. Terrified me. Kujo didn't scare me as much as E.T. did. #scarymovies
Gremlins, the movie that launched a thousand dreams of scary things attacking me in my kitchen when all I wanted was a late night snack pack. #scarymovies
Hortense, I forgot about "Return to Oz" as an adult too. Watching clips of it on youtube and remembering the wheelies ::shudder:: make me remember WHY I wanted to forget this movie. Did they REALLY send an 8-year old for electric shock therapy? REALLY!?!?! #scarymovies
