I'll take one each of the French Provincal and the Year of the Dragon. I love them, and not even in an ironic way. If only I had the space for full-size appliances in my efficiency studio (which with no stove is anything but efficient!!)

We used to have the French Provincial cupboards in dark walnut and refrigerator in a lovely shade of harvest gold. And when I say lovely shade, I mean puke. But at least it matched the puke gold stove and embossed cushion vinyl flooring.

@hortense: Kelvinator was named after Lord Kelvin, the inventor of the thermometer. For a while, it was owned by Nash, the car company, and eventually was sold to Frigidaire. It's now owned by Electrolux. Do not ask why I know all this, but I'd score on Jeopardy.

@BabyJane: For me, that'd be old off-white fabric, and my rubber seals are shot, and I'll have to make lots of weird noises and gurgling sounds to complete the effect. Oh, and since my auto-defrost is broken, once a month I'll have to leak water all over the floor.

@CrossWord: my fridge is an early 1990s black model, side by side, with sort of a glossy insert. My repairman explained to me that Amana came out with a line where you could pop the panels out and insert new ones. I suppose the fashion equivalent would be black patent leather boots
