    @little_librarian: Bardot is highly racist, has an outspoken bias against Islam and it's presence in France, and I believe she hasn't ben to nice to the gays either. But I stopped really listening to her after all her anti-Islam junk in the 90's.

    i agree with you. bardot is a big mouth and all her stupidity is very public. but we pretend like we "know" all the artists/musicians/writers/actors/models whomever that we respect and idolize. and the fact is, we don't know these people at all~~ especially the ones who shun lots of publicity. if we knew the private lives and personal utterances/actions of every single public person, we'd wind up disgusted by everybody.


    even the ones who seem to do a lot of good~~ that's in the public eye. we still don't "know" these people once the camera is off.

    @Macloserboy: i grapple with this all the time. great art isn't always made by assholes, but when it is, it's usually not someone who's kind of an asshole but instead is a raging asshole.


    also, depends on how you define "great" and "art" in the first place.
