    @Your Screenplay Sucks: I read a news story recently about a couple who killed themselves together (overdose of sleeping pills or something) because the wife had cancer and they couldn't face living apart. It was like three weeks before their golden wedding anniversary.

    I don't get it. Fruits and vegetables aren't that expensive, and processed foods are not only expensive, they give you cravings for more and more of themselves. I think some of these people may have forgotten what real food tastes like.

    @TheFormerJuneBronson: And just to forestall any lengthy disagreements, yes, I'm aware that poor people don't always have access, which I think should be remedied, and yes, I've shopped in those poor-neighborhood grocery stores myself, so I know how pathetic the selection is, and how expensive real foods--really, all foods--are there. My issue is with people who have the access and have talked themselves out of buying fruits and veggies for whatever reason. We're far from rich, and live in a lower-middle-class small city, and I'm surrounded by produce, even in the dead of winter. It's not that hard to find something edible. Flash-freezing solves what international transit doesn't.

    Winston Pooh Bear

    @stacyinbean: omg I can barely talk about Pooh. I kind of liked Winnie the Pooh and then everyone I knew suddenly thought I was obsessed. When I was 16, my then-boyfriend bought me a really weird Winnie the Pooh picture frame for our anniversary. When I was in COLLEGE, my grandmother bought me a set of Winnie the Pooh luggage, and a pair of Keds-like shoes with Winnie the Pooh embroidered on them. WTF??? I had to throw out the shoes because NO ONE who wears a size 11 womens would ever feasibly wear them.


    The luggage was convenient in that no one at the airport ever, ever had the same suitcase as me. I looked like an asshole though.

    @bloodflower: I was in my teens when my mother had two more children and i did A LOT of babysitting. In my home this involved a similarly large amount of Winnie the Pooh. I absolutely fell in love again and seeing my brother and sister do the same was the sweetest thing ever. My mom actually collects original Pooh items and the drawing cell thingies. Cheesy overshare!

    @rocknrollunicorn: oh that is hilarious. My first boyfriend bought me a Winnie the Pooh when he went to Disney with his family. I just went and found it and it is dorkily marked '1996' on the tag! I was 14!
