I'd like to take this moment to discuss how much I hate Jonna. She is the absolute worst. She is obssessed with attention. And even worse, she's obsessed with MALE attention. Even when she had a boyfriend and wasn't planning on rudely breaking up with him, she would sit on her guy roommate's laps and cuddle them and run her fingers along their arms, etc. UNNECESSARY.
Then, she breaks girl-code by going after Jasmine's crush WHILE having a boyfriend that she swears she's in love with...and then doesn't even have the decency to be honest with Jasmine about it. She just kinda ignores her actions and hopes everyone else will, too. Then, she even admits that if she were Jasmine she would be upset at her! I mean, worst.girl.friend.ever. Of course after all this the guy who she "stole" from Jasmine and broke up with her BF over then left Cancun and was like "kthxbye."
Now, she continues to be obsessed with male attention to the detriment of her relationships with her female roommates and has NO IDEA what they are talking about when they say she needs to lay off all the boy-craziness for a second. She's all "this is why I'm not friends with girls."
UGH! You're not friends with girls because you dont RESPECT your relationships with women. You will flirt with their men and drop them in a second to hang out with some dude you just met. It's insanity. But then I realize she's 20 and might grow out of it. Please, do. Please, do.
@JinxyMcDeath: Exactly! You treat your female friends like you can't wait to get away from them, and you don't respect their relationships/crushes? That's how you self-fulfill a prophecy.
When Bronnie talked to Emily the first time around, I was expecting him to flip, instead he seemed genuinly upset and came off as trying to make her understand how the act hurt him. I was really impressed with him since hes the last person I would have expected a "mature" (loosely) from.
but then he went and talked to dudes who provoked him to come back and throw out Hitler comparisons. which was lame, and props to Emily for not laughing at him for trivilizing faschism and comparing death camps to shirly templing a zombie magazine.
It was pretty weird that Bronne left, which really should have given him time to cool down, and then went back again several minutes later with renewed rage and randomly flipped out on the girls. His big speech about Hitler was embarrassing to watch, it just showed a huge lack of self-awareness and a huge amount of self-importance... I was cringing as he went on and on about it. He came off as a massive douchebag.
If I were Emilee though, it would have been the Maxim that got trampled, and the Zombie that got read.
The way that Bronne talks reminds me of a line from the theme song to a beloved 90's public television program that my brother and I, to this day, still lovingly mock.
Ok, now that I am aware that zombie magazines exist, I will buy them, and probably flip the shit out of anyone who is so foolhardy as to tapdance on them. The fox trot, however, is perfectly acceptable.
This is totally something I would probably have done during a drunken night in college, maybe even high school. I think 'tap-dance' is a little generous, though, at least she wasn't wearing shoes
@velvet.fistfull of love: Yeah, I see the Isaac connection, but like you said, Isaac was genuinely funny and loveable whereas Bronne looks exhausting to be around and not in a good way.
Jonna and Pat are such assholes. Up to this point Pat has been mostly quiet so I haven't been able to pass judgment but the way he acted on last nights episode? Totally uncalled for. Jasmine was being all normal and trying to move past it, but could Pat and Jonna? Of course not, they had to be huge dinks.
Nevermind the threesome, I thought it was pretty lame.
This may have been the worst episode of The Real World ever--endless ruminating and regret and fake intrigue over that dumb threesome that Ayiiia PLANNED IN THE FIRST PLACE. Although I feel for her that she feels she has to choose between being herself(including her sexual identity) and being loved by her family.
My least favorite part, though, was Pat and Jonna's self fulfilling prophecy that Jasmine and J.R. would be uncomfortable around them, so they made things as uncomfortable as possible, in a long, dull scene that's happened before.
My most favorite part had to be the revelation that Ayiiia and Jonna hooked up and Pat wasn't really involved. I pictured him off to the side just muttering "Ohmygodohmygod I can't belive this is happening right now This is the culmination of all my life's goals, I'm on tv, having a THREESOME"
I didn't understand why they were all making such a big deal out of it. (Especially Emilee, whose business, it was not. I mean, why would you stay in the room when 2 people are fucking? Why not just make it 3?) Ayiia wanted Jonna, and the only way to get her was to bring Pat along. So she did it. Jonna loves attention, so she did it. I just don't get why it had to be so dramatic. Like you, i do understand her concern about her parents.
And yes, OMG Jonna and Pat. So self-important! Jasmine was trying to be nice, trying to make things normal, and Pat purposefully made things awk just so he could feel like she still had a thing for him. So fucked up. I really dislike those two.
@unalteredone: " I really dislike those two"
Likewise. They both think the world revolves around them, so when they get together, everyone must revolve around them as a couple. Jonna spent the first half of the episode jerking around her ex, and then getting everyone else to reassure her that she's not jerking him around. The episode ends with her toying with his feelings again, since her fling is over, and also trying to call Pat in Toronto. I hope her bf runs far, far away.
Emilee's drama was ridiculous. It bugged me a lot when she was like "I thought Jonna was better than that"(but Ayiiia wasn't?) Maybe that's why they didn't want to tell her!
I dont know, what i got from it was that shes really into girls, and doesnt want to dissapoint her parents by being identified as a lesbian...
I think its hard for alot of girls to accept that they like other girls. I was with alot of guys (for the sake of my parents) before being with a girl and discovering that I liked girls.
its like a lightbulb goes off...something finally FITS.
Anyone remember the first season of The Real World, in NY, where it was a big deal that Julie and Eric were maybe into each other? Or season 4, in London, where it was a big deal that maybe Kat and Neal, who had a girlfriend, were maybe into each other and maybe kissed? I sometimes long for the simplicity of the 90's.
One more thing, I actually personally know a prior cast member on the Real World. I knew her PRIOR to her being on the show, during her being on the show, and after the show. At the time, I was living with her best friend. She looked like a fucking idiot. She came back to our town with 0% respect. Everyone made fun of her. She couldn't go anywhere without people making comments about her. And quite frankly, she deserved it! She put her entire life out there for people to critique! She said stupid things on national television and sounded incredibly ignorant and dumb. I'm not telling you who this person is because that's just way too much identifiable information.
@JinxyMcDeath: The people with self-respect, restraint and intellect know better than to go on reality TV. So that leaves producers with...the cast of the Real World, et al.
the whole house wanted to get rid of her, and yet two different girls in the house hooked up with her. what kind of power does she have over these people? were they all drunk-enough, bicurious hate hook ups? is she made of candy? what is her exact appeal, because i am missing it.
also, the whole thing about "oh, i'm worried about my family judging me" is ridiculous. people judge each other all the time, family included. giving a judgment is called human nature. not wanting people to judge you is stupid, regardless of what you do.

Also, I can't believe he's coming back next episode.
