    My office was transfixed on our big screen (turned to CNN) for a solid two hours. Even guests who came in for meetings wandered over to watch the happenings! The lone Republican kind of huffed around at her computer.

    My son's school canelled today because of "imminent weather." Yeah, we may get a dusting of snow somewhere in the next 24 hours; it's a downright blizard in Virginia Beach, people!


    I think the truth is, the teachers and admin wanted to stay home and watch the inauguration. So my son, my three dogs, one gerbil and I will do so in our den, (gas)fireplace roaring, my period cramps blazing. I would send pics, but the puppy is scared to death of the camera and piddles whenever I bring it out.


    I'll be viewing yours, though!

    I'm at work, but they've been nice to set up screenings in the conference rooms and the in the "music room" (I work in a museum and the music room is the public concert/lecture space).


    I tried bringing a portable TV to work but I couldn't get a decent signal. The poor thing won't work at all in a few weeks. . .

    I have an interview right during the inauguration telecast. Really looking forward to seeing what other people are doing that is fun and patriotic. I may go to the zoo after my interview, because conservation is patriotic.

    I'd just like to let you all know that some people are celebrating this historic even BY FLYING THE STARS AND BARS HERE IN GEORGIA. No kidding - yesterday - on I-20. My husband started to give the cement truck driver the finger and then we thought better of it. There was definitely a gun rack in the cab somewhere.

Granted, I emailed everyone a transcript & video of MLKJ's "I Have a Dream Speech" yesterday, as well as, posting numerous bulletins on Myspace about MLKJ & Obama, so I may have ruffled some feathers.
