I have not had to deal with this serious of a situation, but I did block the asshat who sexually harrassed me into leaving my last job. I don't want to see his stupid face and I don't want him to be able to see me. Blocking is the shit.

It is scary, but I think if there were no roofies involved, or if there was a preexisting sexual relationship, these guys can easily rationalize a date rape. You know, "she said no, but she didn't really mean it because she didn't hit me or anything." Or, "if she didn't want sex why did she flirt with me and drink so much?"

One night almost exactly four years ago, after five long island iced teas and an Irish car bomb, I went home with a casual acquaintance who had promised me another drink at his place. We joked about how drunk I was and he asked me to walk in a straight line. I probably didn't do a good job; I dunno. I woke up in his bed. I have vague memories of probably fooling around, though I don't remember anything clearly. So I have no idea what happened.
Friends of mine knew him tangentially and said they'd heard him brag once that he "checked to see if girls were too drunk to sleep with by having them walk in a straight line" in his kitchen. I wanted to throw up.
If he's bragging about that, he sure as shit doesn't consider what he did rape. (Or, not rape, depending on if we had sex or not, which I still don't know. The next day I got Plan B and an STD test, just in case. The OB-GYN said I was being "smart"; I felt like an absolute idiot.)

My close friend was raped by an acquaintance of hers and her friends. Her friends actually saw her walking back to her apt. with him and thought she seemed out of it, but they didnt stop her. And then when she decided to not press charges, a handful of her friends thought that meant she was okay with him and one of them actually BROUGHT HIM TO HER BDAY PARTY! When did being a rapist be acceptable?

The guy who slipped me a roofie, date raped me and paid for half the abortion tried to friend me on Facebook two years after it happened. I rejected him so fast, so then he tried LinkedIn a few months later. I was going to message him back with just the word "RAPIST" in the body, but looking at his name for one more second would have made me puke -- plus, he's so beyond help.
