You're welcome.

Not true, for the past two weeks there's been a run on gunshops in the south and west. Colorado and Texas have had record sales on guns and assault rifles, as most people think (or "fear" as the articles say) that Obama and a Democratic Congress will re-ban automatic rifles.

So, basically, Obama has already starting boosting the economy!

"It's hard to imagine the Obama administration wanting to have to devote the time necessary to sell the country on the idea of a guy who made himself famous at Harvard by suggesting that girls can't do math."

And if you pick Larry Summers, Obama, you are getting your first of many strongly worded letters from me, your tough love constituent J.D.Regent.

Waxman LOVES the media. If he's head of Energy and Commerce, that will make my job easier. Also, since the House doesn't have a separate committee for health care like the Senate does, Waxman would also be in a position to push an Obama administration's health care initiatives.

All of that aside though, Obama taking Omaha makes me immensely happy. I grew up there surrounded by a lot of hateful, racist bullshit and I don't know what's happened in the 5 1/2 years I've been away but holy hell keep moving in that direction, Omaha.

Your assumptions are probably wrong . . . its the fact that is carried interest is taxed as capital gains. 15% is not greater than 25% no matter how you cut it.

But she does look quite silly, any way you slice it.

True, government is too big, but not from a standpoint of function, more from a function of size. The Federal government is bloated from years of debt spending and military buildup, much of which happened on the Republican watch. Pot. Kettle. Black.

Why do people still cling to it as a viable concept?

"[Reagan] understood that big government is cruel and uncaring of individual aspirations..."
Yes, you stupid fucking shithead. In a society, not everyone's individual aspiration can be taken into account. Society is built on the basic principle that, yeah, for the sake of the whole, certain things that we might want to do, we can't do.
This isn't cruelty, Dick Armey, you idiot.
Christ, he's got the political sensibilities of a four year old.
"No, Dick, you're not allowed to pee on the cat."
"But I WANT to!"
"Dick, you're not allowed to pee on the cat."
"But I WANT to! You're so mean! I hate you! I'm going to go run away and live in a house where I can pee on whatever I want!"

Even now, when we're faced with a crisis caused by letting everybody do whatever they want, when poor Alan Greenspan has to sit down in front of Congress and say, "Yeah, I thought letting everyone do what they want would be a good idea. I mean, I didn't think they'd be assholes." when every law and policy is necessarily an example of abrogation of short-term success for the sake of long-term stability, still people say, "But taxes! Taxes! Taxes!"
This is because myopia is inherent. You have to learn foresight, and we have an embarrassingly poor system of public education.
