    I just finished "The Sisters - Saga of the Mitford Family", so now I'm all "Oo ooo a Guinness/Mitford relation, OMG she looks just like them! Squeee!"

    Such a dork. But Daphne is a beauty!

    That story about 'Goods of Conscious' is very cool - now I want some. Can I afford them? *looks* Nope! But I suppose 'featured in Vogue' was a hint on that one. Still, is splendid.

    I'm not totally getting the news about 'mulesing' (maybe because the words 'maggot infestations' are so distracting, not in a good way). What I am reading is that mulesing prevents those infestations, but that cannot be it, right? Otherwise it would be a good thing?

    @BlondeGoddess: It prevents the infestations, but it a) hurts the sheep and b) there are other, more costly/labor intensive ways of preventing flystrike.

    Sephora vending machines in actual stores seems like a slightly odd choice, but if they put them in ladies' loos, I would be on that like it was cake. It would be so brilliant to do the baleful old I-look-like-death glance in the bathroom mirror, and then just nip over and get a little good-quality blush or a fresh mascara. It would sell like the dickens.

Oh my god, you know what would be hilarious, if like David Lynch directed a fashion commercial. God I'm hungry, is there a vending machine around here? Dude, vending machines should totally sell makeup. Then I could like get a twinkie and a fuckin lipgloss at THE SAME TIME. I'm a genius. You know what's awesome? Horses. And dancing.     @GreyEminence: It is smug. Horribly so. But! I've fantasized about doing exactly that. You know, like I'm driving past an adorable little house, and I imagine walking up to their door and leaving a note: Call me. Whatever the value of your house, I will give you double for it. I think I do this not out of dreams of ridiculous wealth, but because my own house is so very ugly.

    ETA: My house isn't really ugly. It just needs a lot of work, and I don't have the money to make any of it happen. So I get house-envy, you see.
