i'm not even going to listen because every time this girl speaks she bumps one sentence into another and yammers away at full speed, thinking herself clever - gah
.....and NO this is NOT G-On-G crime - its an observation being made based on repeated experiences and is given regardless of gender
@cinemaddict: PilgrimSoul's got the patriarchy in hand, and yk, a girl needs shtick.
*To be fair this truly, honestly is my first fisting reference on Jez. Or, maybe the 2nd, if you count that I think I posted lyrics from Tool's song "Stinkfist" once.
It's safe to say I'll try to work it in more now, tho.
@rmj12345: I'd help, but alas, every time I google something suspect, I leave it in the damn google toolbar window for my kids or husband to see.
And sometimes, just sometimes, it gets really fucking annoying trying to explain. (Like the day I googled "gawker media porn site" because I couldn't remember the name Fleshbot, and was wondering if they'd been sold, or just taken off the menu.)
@Neely O'Hara (BabyJane was so 2008): The best is that my husband (one who saw it) wouldn't give a damn if I was looking at porn, but when I went through the full explanation, he was like "That's what you DO when no one's home?"
Its the verbal equivalent of trying to bullshit an answer to an essay question on a test, then realizing half way through it doesn't make sense but its too late to change it so you just have to go with it. (Maybe also called "Ms. Teen South Carolina Syndrome" ?)
I have no idea what she said...and I think it's best things remain that way.
She has to be sick of answering questions about her ex--maybe this is her way of kind of avoiding the question, while still giving an (confusing, rambling) answer?
I always cut celebs some slack on these morning shows. LA time it's like 4am and they have probably been up a couple of hours for makeup. If it were me I'ld probably fall back to sleep sitting there.
@SweetSerengeti: I'd be sympathetic too, but part of these actors' career is to make press appearances and manage their PR and show up to things like this. If it were my job to be up at 4AM and coherent, I'd probably do my damnedest to be coherent.
Also--and this is probably kind of tangential--if an actor can't speak and express themselves clearly in front of a TV camera, for which they have been prepped and makeupped and dollied up for, how on earth do they make money acting in movies? Which also involve getting prepped and makeupped and being in front of a camera.
Not to be too harsh on her--I mean, the lady's been through a lot and I'm sure it's rough to make these appearances. Just my two cents.
@devilchyld22: Oh, she was good. I just had this burning hatred for the books that transferred to the films!
@Dayman-Fan: Meryl Streep is God in human form, I love that woman. Emily was fantastic, too. And whatever the name of the guy who was Anne's boyfriend - drool!
@Glitterbug: I saw Meryl Streep on the View some day last week, and I had to stop and watch her interview. I'm not the star-struck type, but if I ever saw her, I'd probably be left speechless. Her intelligence, unconventional beauty, versatility...I should stop now b/c I could go on for a while about her.
@Dayman-Fan: I adore Meryl Streep on a par with Helen Mirren and Judi Dench. All gorgeous women who haven't taken the "Joan Rivers" plastic surgery route or the "Madonna" every-day-is-bootcamp route! Also, Tilda Swinton - she just doesn't care what people think (and also did the same course as me at the same university!).
It doesn't hurt that they are all phenomenal actresses, either! They just don't make 'em like that anymore, do they?
