Ah - and of course I have to go back to donate to the algebra project because to this day nothing makes me happier than new school supplies. Seriously.

I love books and science. I am particularly moved by the idea of girls seeing how women have thrived in science-based careers. And Girls In Love With Books? I am in love with the idea! I am off to donate!
Yay, Jezebel! I'm sure the generous and fiercely intelligent reader community will be able to meet each of these goals! I know at least three of us have already given to Girls in Love with Books - I bet we'll meet these funding needs in no time at all, and Jez will have to put up another set of projects for us to contribute to!
Donors Choose is an awesome group. My MIL and SIL are both teachers, and they LOVE this program. It really, really helps them, particularly as they normally spend several thousand dollars a year of their own money purchasing school supplies for their students, because schools no longer buy stuff like that for teachers.
I've always kind of wanted to paint murals on my walls, so this really doesn't strke me as odd. In subject matter, maybe. But I'm totally jealous that he has those giant walls to do whatever he wants with.
My future surgeon bf made me a gin and tonic last night without me even having to ask for one. With two lime wheels, because thats how I like 'em. I much prefer that to a gilded palace in Texas. I would be in the market for a nice chateau in France if the bf does well.
On the other hand, I think this man may have a little too much time on his hands. And may love god a little bit too much... Those frames of godly themes are intense.(And sparkly!)
My father is a surgeon and while he doesn't go around creating art tributes as he's still working I have to say surgeons are a bit odd. Perfectly nice and everything but prone to type a behaviour.
