Target's mossimo tees and tanks are wardrobe staples of mine, but this stuff is a complete shitshow.

Blue dress in the thumbnail is 100% this dress [store.americanapparel.net] with a zipper sewn on.

The model in the blue dress with the thin straps and the saggy boobs looks like I do when I go, "ehhh, but it's on clearance for $5.75, I'll get it anyway". And that accounts for an incomprehensible number of unflattering sundresses in my wardrobe.

When you buy clothes from Target, you expect the quality to be kind of bad because it is meant to be disposable fashion. This is, though, goes above and beyond. It completely removes the middleman from the store-consumer-trash heap cycle. Efficient, Target!

Also, I don't love the shape of the very last dress, in black. Is it the belt that's causing that extra just-above-the-hips spare tire on a model who definitely doesn't have a spare tire? It isn't actively offensive, I guess, but dear God it's unflattering. It just skips over the waist and makes a huge bunch right over the widest part of the hips.

Guys, you don't have to be so hard on Stacey McGill, it's her first time designing a line, and besides, she has diabetes.

@hatepaperdoll: Methinks that she took too much input from Laine during the design process. She should have just listened to Claudia and woven a Peruvian shawl.

Oh, and the silhouette for the royal/vivid blue mini that's pictured before the jump? It might not look so bad in miniature, but when you actually click through to it, IT HAS A PHANTOM LOWER-ABDOMEN POUF.

So in case you don't have an actual lower-abdomen pouf, you can have one! If you do have one, well, now you have somewhere to prominently display it.

    Yeah, fuck no.

See, I feel like the silhouette presented by the tiered periwinkle thing has been praised before. I can't remember exactly where, but I could swear I've seen something like it in Good/Bad/Ugly threads? I could be completely hallucinating this.

I personally hate it--it is figure-obscuring and awful--but it could be that it's one of the few that does not actively make me want to bite off my own leg and beat myself unconscious with it.

@tscheese: My issue with most of these clothes is that they don't even look good on the MODEL. If a model can't pull these looks off, there is no hope for the rest of us.

I like about half of it and am completely unashamed.

By like it though, I like the idea, not necessarily the execution. This is an example of why designer items work better. The fabrics would have been higher quality, the cuts more flattering, and better in overall construction. This collection (minus corset and perforated tights) would serve as a decent look book. As in, go to BP, pay a little more, and get something far more flattering.
