    Huge bucketfuls of joy are pouring out of me right now. Even my mom (who thought Sarah Palin was cool) had only complimentary things to say about Mr. President and the First Family.


    Did anyone else see the thumbs-up one of the girls gave Obama after he was sworn in, and before he gave his first presidential speech? Sooooo cute.

    Don't remember which network, but I did just see a news story about people spontaneously beginning to pick up trash on the Mall since they had plenty of time until they would be able to get out. So, it was not all like this!

    @Scout: There were trashcans on the outskirts on the OTHER side of security checkpoints, but none scattered throughout the mall or standing areas.

    Every time I see pictures like this, I wish so hard that someday I will find someone to love me that much, and with whom I can reciprocate. I'm going through a maudlin phase right now, sigh.


    On a more upbeat note, I went to the White House website and went through the slideshow of presidents, and when it got to 44, I went WOOT WOOT!
