Weird story alert! I had a friend who's body had a VERY VERY bad reaction to Nuvaring and increased her egg production to the point that it she was ovulating 2-3 times a week. She (of course) got pregnant and had to stop boning her husband IMMEDIATELY so superfetation didn't occur. It took a few weeks for her to stop ovulating.
@RosemaryF: VERY VERY bad indeed! -10 for a contraceptive device that actually makes you MORE fertile. I was actaully considering the Nuva ring, but will now definitely think twice (as my goal is to bone my husband with abandon).
@RosemaryF: I'm not a scientist or doctor, but I believe NuvaRing works the same way as oral contraceptives-by inhibiting ovulation. Perhaps there were other issues involved. Anyway, I love NuvaRing and have been on it for nearly 6 years and I have never had a problem with it.
I thought it was cute and hilarious, but all these tales of super freakish fertility make me terrified that I'll end up triple pregnant with 6 year olds despite not having sex in several months, or something equally bizarre.
Eh, that's nothing--I have a friend whose twins were born in different MILLENIA. One was born at 12:52 p.m. on December 31, 1999, and the second arrived at 12:09 a.m., January 1, 2000.
In 2006, Kylie Hodgson gave birth to two baby girls--one fair-skinned with blond hair and one dark-skinned with black hair. Both Kyle and her partner have white mothers and black fathers.
It's because pro-choice cartoonists don't realize that women facing difficult decisions look just like the women in their lives; that they are the women in their lives.
This just makes me ridiculously angry. I went to PP yesterday and those fucking people were outside with their signs and they're just yelling "Your son or daughter doesn't have a say in this matter don't do it!!!" I was like are you fucking kidding me?! I mean I know there's free speech and all, but I really think they need to be prohibited from being so fucking close to you. And also just because you're pregnant doesn't mean you're a mindless twit, like these cartoons and other anti-choicers would like to depict. I'm not gonna decide to not have an abortion because you're crazy ass is standing outside with a sign.
@Interrobanging: I agree totally & I'm sorry you had to go through that. I find it interesting that political conventions, WTO meetings, etc get a large no-protest zone because of fears of violence & safety and yet women seeking a legal medical procedure have to put up with this shit & the employees of these clinics have to live with threats of violence on a daily basis because of "free speech". I don't agree with the protesters point of view & I find their tactics despicable; however, they should be able to protest but clinics should get a large safety zone (I realize there are practical difficulties) & the full protection that politicians & business leaders get.
