    What does "Palinized" mean? Because one thing that strikes me that Prejean and Palin have in common is that conservatives suddenly discover that maybe equal treatment of women is a good idea and sexism is maybe a great evil when these women are under attack, but don't carry those thoughts any further than shouting about how their side is victimized (instead of, say, actually working towards equality) to score political points.

    What I'm saying is that my definition of "palinized" refers to the party's hypocrisy, not the woman herself. But I'm guessing that's not what Prejean means. #carrieprejean

    I like that it's her military sister who disagrees with her about gay marriage-- and that Hannity is the one who points out that she's in the military when the liberal sister comes up. It's really frustrating, as a child of a very liberal military family, to hear Hannity types spouting that "our good ol' traditional conservative troops" BS again and again, and so to me, that was a bright spot in an otherwise totally insipid video. #carrieprejean

    This reminds me so much of when Dr. Laura's TV show was first moved to early-morning air time and then cancelled. She railed on her radio show that she was being stifled because liberals didn't honor her right to free speech. You'd think she'd be smart enough to understand that television is a business, and it's there to make money. Obviously, she wasn't making money for someone, so she lost her air time. By the same token, Prejean seems not to see herself as the money sponge she is. When people squeeze her and no more money comes out, she's over. There is no more to it than that. There is no merit in her ideas; she's unintelligent, unsympathetic, not especially Godly, and uninteresting. But she is profitable. If she thinks she's more, she's also delusional.

    When you style yourself an arbiter of morality and cast aspersions on the private lives of others, then you need to be able to take it as well as you dish it, honey. That's public life.

    If, by "Palinized" you mean being completely unqualified to speak on the topic you just pulled out of your ass, concocting a word salad out of words you don't understand and then whine about how the world is against you, boo hoo, then yeah, you're getting Palinized. Get used to it. #carrieprejean

    I think that she is absolutely right that she has been Pailinized. The right found a beautiful, but not particularly intelligent woman, with no real national qualifications to be spokesperson for their issues. Then, surprisingly, everyone criticized her for being dim, unknowledgeable, poorly spoken, and completely unqualified. Damned liberal media! #carrieprejean

    When I attempt to listen to people who are saying things like, "Americans and their beliefs, they believe, it's important conservative women get attacked!" I can’t take them seriously. What is it with conservatives and their vocabulary or the lack thereof? Someone should let them know that a little bit of grammatical structure goes a long way. Also, when she asks, "since when does free speech not exist, since when is it okay to call someone the most awful woman in the world and get away with it," I felt like I was watching a comedy sketch. Apparently logic is not one of her special talents. #carrieprejean

    I think if you position yourself as an authority of Christian, hetero, married, sexual morality, and you have a sex tape, it's absolutely fair game. So I don't agree that her sexuality shouldn't be commented on. Sexuality is the whole of her platform. #carrieprejean

    @keyamarie: Because they imagine that actual victims aren't victims either. I mean, seriously. Rape victim? Was asking for it. Poor person? Doesn't work hard enough. Killed for being gay? Was gay. Otherwise down on luck? Not close enough to God. To conservatives, victimization isn't a state of pain; it's just a rhetorical tool. So when they use it as one--in the most blatantly specious manner imaginable--they imagine they're doing no more than what we'd call an actual victim, whom they imagine to be using the same rhetorical tool to get what they want also. It requires a serious lack of empathy to think this way. Just another reason it's baffling to associate conservatism with Christianity, as they so often do. What would Jesus do? I guarantee, not this! #carrieprejean
