I like that when they're high, they go in circles.

Those wallabies! I swear. They're such a bad influence. What with all that hopping and the drug use, such as.

I love wallabies. SO CUTE. There is this place in Taupo, NZ called Cherry Island where you used to be able to go and interact with the animals, and they always had wallabies.

Surely you mean Poppies + Wallabies = HILARIOUS.

And poppies are my favorite flower. Unfortunately they do not grow especially well in my region of the northeastern US :-(

@LaComtesse: you could try growing the non-opium ones. they grow a little bit easier. but if you want the opium ones (i think they're a lot prettier) try putting some seeds in sandy soil that has a lot of light. vacant lots tend to do well with poppies!

This reminds me of the time my childhood dog ate an entire pan of brownies that had been left out on the counter, then ran outside, hopped up on the picnic table, chased his tail until he fell off, hopped back up, chased his tail till he fell of, etc., for like three hours.

Also, I am amused that this is a PROBLEM. Do we not have anything else to worry about is Tasmania? Are poppy-abusing wallabies it?

@Hell on Heels: Also, can we go to Tasmania and pick up our very own poppy-abusing wallabies? Best. pet. ever.

So what's stopping Tasmanian teenagers from stumbling upon these bumper crops of poppies, getting wasted, and making sweet, furry, fleeting love to the poor unsuspecting wallabies?

@deitybox: That's why they don't allow gay marriage in Australia. You allow two men to marry and the next thing you know teenagers are getting high on opium and making love to marsupials. It is that slippery of a slope.

I'm fine with it as long as they don't start writing awful songs about trying to kick and getting dope sick.

Sigh. I knew this would happen when I read all those stories months back about all the wallabies stumbling innocently into marijuana crops. Gateway drug indeed.

Sophomore year of college my roommate and I decided to try opium. So we dimmed the lights in her room, shut the doors, and proceeded to light up.

Two hours later our other roommate found us lying on our backs, staring up at the ceiling and rubbing the plastic packet the drugs came in all over ourselves because "We loooooooved the smell".
