Is it just me or is that two pictures put together? Sacha Baron Cohen is really tall isn't he? Kristen Stewart (think that is her) has to be quite a bit smaller then him. The perspective just seems a little off. Either way I like the cover and the quotes are hilarious. Especially the Naomi Campbell one.
She posted some fun photos of her and her friends in their clothes and then the PR people called it bad publicity and made her take it down! I am totally outraged for her. And she's so damn nice.
@nessalicious: susie bubble is a darling but i'm kinda conflicted about this one. while i think their response was unnecessarily bitchy, I can understand their annoyance at someone they don't know rolling up in their shop and playing dress-up.
if anyone deserves a smackdown, however, its the store employees that let that happen...
@avocadosaredelicious: You're right in that if this isn't what Pam Hogg wanted, then the staff should have been trained to say no. However I don't think she was being cruel about the clothes and she was making light of the fact that they are quite funny (in a good way!). If (as she rightly states) such lumnaries as Peaches Geldof and Jamie Winston wearing them is ok, then why isn't her and her friend?
Did you read the original post? I thought it was sweet.
I love you Sasha Baron Cohen. I can't believe a shiksa got to you first.
(Nothing against Isla Fisher -- she is also Awesome. But never in my youth did I ever dream I could find such an amazing, hilarious, attractive, and JEWISH man.)
Isn't it good for womanity that Kate is suing over the 'unsolicited uterus updates'? She has put on a few pounds of late, and now sports a completely NORMAL FEMALE NON-PREGNANT rounded belly; some would say this is even a desirable and attractive characteristic in a woman. Jeez.
If anyone else was wondering about the origins of the seemingly scatological name of "Aquascutum," here is a brief history, culled from their website. The clothes are quite lovely!
1851-1885
In 1851, while Queen Victoria's consort, Prince Albert, held the Great Exhibition, Mayfair tailor John Emary was determined to introduce the latest innovations in menswear when he opened his upmarket shop in Regent Street. His main concern was the reliable waterproofing of outerwear and only a few years later, in 1853, he had a brand new technology patented after succeeding to produce a shower-proof textile. That same year, he changed the name of his company to 'Aquascutum', from the Latin 'aqua' -water- and 'scutum' -shield-. The unusual word created interest from the start. A cascade of orders for the new rain-repellent clothes was the consequence and the streets of Mayfair were filled with Victorian boulevardiers wearing the 'Aquascutum Wrapper'. In the same year Aquascutum's development and success were honoured with the freedom of the City of London.
Further recognition came during the Crimean War when weather resistant coats were very much in demand. British army officers equipped themselves with Aquascutum raincoats and withstood the rigours of the Russian winter. One Brevet Major Goodlake and his Sergeant claimed they owed their lives to grey Aquascutum coats.
Indistinguishable from their Russian foe they marched with the enemy army until they could escape and rejoin their own lines. The Captain's coat is preserved at Newstead Abbey in the Midlands.
Karl Lagerfeld will be one of the voices of an animated French movie called Totally Spies. He's going to play a bad guy named Fabu. Which we think is Fab!
This is the best thing I have heard all day. This may actually make me happier than the Johnny Depp pictures from earlier*. I hope he is unscripted and just says whatever the hell he wants to - that would be epic.
* They were somewhat expected, what with him being in a movie. This is unexpected wonderful.
@Diziet_Sma: Are there designers who will hire a pregnant model for their campaign? I doubt it. Sure she could go back to working afterwards, but pregnancy hurts her immediate prospects more than drugs do.
@AlmostDream: And also, maybe she isn't, you know, pregnant? It's kind of hard to sue the papers for saying you are a cokehead, when you are, in fact, a cokehead.
@Diziet_Sma: Seriously? I don't know if you meant to sound that condescending, but I was just noting why she'd be more upset about pregnancy rumors than drug "rumors". Drug addiction doesn't hurt her career. Pregnancy means no more jobs and maybe she actually wants to keep working, regardless of what she can "afford" to do.
@greengrey: Pregnancy did not hurt her career the first time - she is the most successful and famous model of all time - why should it this time? The original comment was just an excuse to have a go at Moss. That's how it read to me.
@greengrey: Also, the implication that the only reason she's suing is for her career bothers me. Because this perpetuates the idea that successful women are cold, hard bitches who only think about their careers. See also: Madonna.
@AlmostDream: Okay. If you didn't intend to be snide, I apologize. Like I said, that's how it read, to me. But I think your point is wrong, as evidenced by her career since she was pregnant the first time. At this point, I honestly don't think getting pregnant again would do any damage to her career long-term. We don't know her motivation; so the fact her alleged 'preganancy' is not actually factual would seem to me to be a greater reason to sue.
@greengrey: Remember that Kate Moss got her contracts with H&M, Burberry, Agent Provocateur and Chanel cancelled (and several others, including with Rimmel, restricted) after her front page cocaine scandal.
No one publicly dropped her after her pregnancy and she appeared in UK Vogue whilst pregnant and shortly after. I think though you were right in saying one seems cool...
@gherkinfiend: I don't know about the cool factor; the current tabloid fascination with pregnant slebs seems the indicate there's nothing cooler than being pregnant right now. It's downright creepy!
How is Japan treating you? Good I hope. So, I have this problem. It is about water. I am American and have NO IDEA between just drinking it because I am thirsty, or drinking it to fulfill a longing need. Can you please write me and give me some tips?
I have some interest in Liya's collab with J.Crew. She's neat, and the kids' clothes are probably going to be badass. And hellaciously expensive, though. I really like the idea of unique childrens clothing because I have seen some awesome stuff from Europe which put Ol' Navy and baby Gap to shame. I guess what I'm trying to express is that I plan on dressing my future kids in awesomely weird clothes.

My son lives in his Uniqlo jacket.
I just adore Audrey Tatou for all the reasons I admire French cinema and French women.
