    Why do I know this? Because my son starred in a school play of this story last week. He was Charlie Brown and he was adorable.

    For the truly obsessed with Vince Guaraldi's brilliant music for the specials, I suggest these albums:


    A Boy Named Charlie Brown (from the TV special that predates the Christmas special)


    A Charlie Brown Christmas (duh!)


    Charlie Brown's Holiday Hits (more Christmas songs, along with other classic specials)


    Oh Good Grief! (funkier versions of songs from later specials)


    Vince Guaraldi and the Lost Cues from the Television Specials, (well, the title speaks for itself, and vol. 1 contains "Little Birdie." The second just came out!)


    The Charlie Brown Suite and Other Favorites (contains a concert that Vince Guaraldi played with an orchestra, and it's gorgeous).


    Yes, I'm obsessed. I don't care.

    When my kids were just babies, we started a tradition of watching A Charlie Brown Christmas every Christmas Eve. When they got older, we always got up and danced like the twins during the dance scene. When she was little, my daughter would just about fall over when she switched sides. I have some great video of those Christmas Eves.


    My kids are 19 and 21 and we still watch this movie together every year. Sometimes we even dance - much to the amusement of their significant others. I'm looking forward to teaching my grandson the moves. *lol*

    Good grief! I just spent all afternoon at work constructing a 5 ft by 15 ft reproduction of the Charlie Brown Christmas ice skating scene (putting my coworker's heads on top of the characters' faces, thank you!), and had to go to this scene for extra characters. (I ran out of actual skaters to paste heads upon.) My office is doing a hallway decorating competition and we all get wayyyyy too into it .... anyway, while i clearly <3 Charlie Brown, I think he is stalking me!


    Also, i love the water in the ear dance, and do it frequently.

    @andheartss nom noms cold hearts: The Charlie Brown Christmas CD is the only christmas music in my house. Because it's awesome, and Vince Guaraldi was an amazing guy for writing and arranging all that stuff.
