The ridiculous fines make me really angry and want to download illegally just to spite them! And even the artists think it's ridiculous! Well guess what, I spend money to support the ARTISTS. Not the RIAA. I think all bands should sell their MP3s themselves, online. Otherwise, I will only spend money on independent labels at independent stores, and on merchandise and such at shows.
Going back on Jill Scott, I am a bit unsure why she brought up the 'single mom' issue. Who would possibly dare call her out on this? The no-shit studies out there show that:
- Shit happens, couples break up.
- 26% of underage children in the US are raised by single parents. 84% of these single parents are the mothers
- This is the 21st Century.
I am just curious as to why anyone would feel the need to justify themselves for a break-up that is either necessary, or beyond your control? Do single moms really still get that kind of crap these days? feel free to chime in
Perez Hilton could care less about the money. He's seeking attention like the fame whore he is. Really, he puts it to new levels of shame. I'm surprised the complaint doesn't ask for "lots and lots of attention for the complainant, as he sucks that up like crack, the fucker."
@dianersb was bit by a zombie: Really. Hate to break it to you, Gisele, but if a kid has a biological mother whom he lives with much of the time? You're not an adoptive mother.
@FashionShowAtLunch: I think Giselle's going on and on about how she's a mother to Tom Brady's son is terribly offensive to Bridget. He has a mother...and she does most of the parenting.
New York Times readers have responded to Patti LuPone's email defending her decision to stop performing when she sees someone using an electronic device in the audience. Most commenters replied, "Brava, diva.
As do I. But does she go far enough? Back in the 1920s, when a bunch of malcontents were making noise during his performance, John Barrymore (Drew's grandfather I think?) sent for a dead fish, which he threw at the noisemakers from the stage while yelling "Chew on that, you walruses, and let the rest of us get on with the libretto!!" I feel this was completely justified.
@Your Screenplay Sucks: Glorious! I completely agree with you. And Ms. LuPone, for that matter.
I hope ushers will be empowered to remove misbehaving ticketholders. I think the thread of ejection, after spending so much for a ticket, might deter many people. Since clearly, the pretense of mutual respect for fellow audience members does not.
@JerseyGrrrl: People are heathens, they will talk through anything. Seriously people, I didn't pay $100 to listen to you babble inanely to your husband.
Ok, fine Megan Fox. FINE. But let me tell you something, sweetie- some of the best, most compelling, and interesting movies of all time ignore that stupid formula. Those are the movies that are studied in film schools, that spark debates, and make people feel genuine emotion. So, yeah...just an FYI.
Y'know, Chris - even if it was written three years ago, it's a hell of a time to be releasing a song called "Not my Fault". I can't believe that's a coincidence.
@Hazel: If she would stop talking, I would be really happy. Yes I am an unabashed Bridget fan but come on - adoptive mother? I'm hoping something got lost in translation for her, because damn.
@apocalypse-nowish: and also.. no, gisele, being a step-mom does NOT mean that you've "been doing this for two years" already. you idiot. that's like me saying that i'm basically a parent because my sister drops my niece off at my house every other weekend.
@Hazel: English isn't her first language, obviously, so it's super annoying how everyone is trying to nit pick every word of her (as you guys said) poorly translated comment. sometimes people forget that the world doesn't speak 'american'. le sigh.
@apocalypse-nowish: I think this is a bit harsh. She's Tom and Bridget's son's stepmother. She WILL be a mother figure to him for as long as she and Tom are together. Though she hasn't ACTUALLY adopted him, he is sort of like a son to her. If she loves him like he is her own son, power to her, not all stepmothers are like that.
@CollegeCamel: I dunno, that rubbed me the wrong way too. What's wrong with saying 'he's like my own son' or calling him 'stepson'. Adoptive implies that she's adopted him, and the kid has a Mom. It seems like she's trying to brush Bridget under the carpet more often than not when she talks about her stepson, and that is just not fair.
I've actually been following the Emma Watson story all day because I'm shoving off to Columbia in the Fall. Even the school blog (Bwog.net) admits it's pretty implausible, given the evidence provided.
@goodcheapfun: Well, I certainly won't be taking classes with him as an undergrad, but apparently he tends to frequent Butler library as well as certain coffee shops around campus. A sighting at least sounds likely!

She and her husband of 6 years divorced in 2007. His name is Lyzel. She wrote "He Loves Me" about him.

Can I sue Perez for the emotional stress caused by visiting his site? I'd say that's worth at least 50k?
